That's most likely the case. Way too fucking little patrons if you ask me. But then again I understand the reasoning for some to not pledge. Some people just wanna go directly to the smut which is fine. Others enjoy the buildup and man does Hopesgaming know how to build it up. The wait is torture but it's quality work so I can't complain.

Cause its only 0.04 release
So basically just 4 main releases under its belt and HopesGaming is a relatively new dev and Deluca Family is his 1st Project.
Gathering of paytrons takes time and patience and 362 paytrons is actually a high number for a game in this early stage.
In a few more releases he will have 1000+ paytrons and because the amount of Adult Games in the market right now is enormous and that creates less paytrons per game basis.

Theres a huge and reasonable middle ground between "directly to the smut" and almost a year of "build up" without any action though. That middle ground is where majority of people want their games to be.

True, and very much the case with games that has the porn as the focus.
But DeLuca is not (solely) about the porn. There is no 'buildup'. For there to be buildup it requires that the end goal with all the interactions is aimed towards sex in the end.
But here the sex is not the goal- it's just part of the journey. It will just happen as you progress with the girls naturally. You interact because you want the story and learn about the girl. After sexual interactions, the next interactions will still be about the story and the relationship between them.

Of course, in this marked, that style is classified as a niche and perhaps I would gain more patrons by following the popular formula. But I enjoy what I do and I'll stick with it.

Thats cool and stuff. I just meant to say that its kind of a strawman argument to say that people arent supporting this game en masse because they want directly to the smut type of games. This game is not hugely supported because its extreme opposite of directly to the smut games and most people dont like extremes, they prefer to be in the middle.

I mean, it's hard to say what kind of support this game would have received if it went path A or path B. Maybe better, maybe worse.
What I can say about the support is that I am personally very happy about it.
I do not know of any other games around my release period that gained a mass following in patron. The few that have done well are under or around the same numbers as me. Of what I know that is.
So I wouldn't say the game is not hugely supported due to 'extreme' opposite of smut games but rather that the marked itself is not in a place where mass patrons happen anymore. Most of the big pledge games out there been on the market since almost the start.
