HopesGaming I've been following this game since just before the last update. I do (some) code development professionally. This was my second experience with AVN's (shoutout to Mr. Dots' "Melody"). I've since played a half-dozen or so others, mostly as recommended discord. I can't stress enough how vastly superior this story and it's art are to everything else I've played and I can appreciate the amount of effort and time required, especially since it's hobby. The pulls upon the heartstrings with Luna's story is unbelievable. I DO NOT CARE HOW LONG updates take. Good things are worth waiting for. To those can't accept that, go somewhere else! Before I made my first post here, I read THIS ENTIRE FORUM from Page 1 (we're on Page 1080, now, right?) and I really don't understand why there are so many posts about the schedule. It detracts from the point of the forum, which, IMHO, is to discuss the game, not rehashing the same-old BS. I respectfully request the moderators just delete these stupid, one-line, pointless posts asking for updates.

So, to encourage discussion about the game, I suggest the following: The Mysterious 6 are NOT a family, but a collection of the old war losers boss's descendants, kind of like Strefan but more like the Pacificatori, yet chaotic and vengeful in nature. As a Luna Fanbase member, nothing else matters. They must be found, infiltrated and systematically eliminated in very public, lengthy, painful and humiliating ways. I know the next update will not satisfy me in this. But I accept that, knowing that Hopes' passion for his hobby will resolve my thirst for revenge. In the mean time, I will enjoy watching our MC evolve and grow into an appropriately capable and remorseless adjudicator of the justice deserved by the perpetrators of the horrors inflicted upon my one and only love.

Yep this. Except it's 3k (before taxes). Which I am very happy and grateful for. But not enough to go full time. To give an idea, in Denmark the average monthly income is 6.6k (before taxes). Combined with high living factors and high risk, the adult industry is - not something I dare to jump into fully. Not yet.

Anyway. The guy is just an oddball as the money doesn't really matter as in the end I am not the one who controls who patronage or not. The patrons do.
Lorenz is a good example. He was patron when he wanted and removed it when he felt the updates took too long, which is fair.
I think he just is annoyed that someone is making money doing something he himself feels is easy work.

Here is a rough overview, if I should have overlooked something, then I ask kindly to correct me:

Gross income
- Share that Patreon keeps
- Tax share of this gross income
= net income
- Living expenses (food, rent, electricity, water etc)
- Other additional expenses (e.g. car, spare parts for the PC, unexpected expenses etc)
- Regular taxes
= What is left at the end

It's always amusing how much people underestimate the amount of taxes, etc.

Prices in Scandinavia are way higher, taxes are way higher than in other places, Patreon takes a share of the earnings.

Also, being self employed means you have to pay for all your work stuff, computers are more expensive when you need high quality power to do the renders and will burn out faster, there's licenses, all kind of stuff.

Yes, even with all that, you can survive on 3k but it isn't just the "money you get for work", you'll have to deduct a lot. And for me it wouldn't be an alternative, despite living in a cheaper country with a lower tax rate (still higher than e. g. the US), since I get way more for my regular work. Again, you can live off 3k, you can support a family on 3k, but it isn't "good" but in the end well below average here.

Also you seem quite obsessed with the number 700 - but these people know what they will be getting and also can speak for themselves. Not everybody who thinks differently than you is just naive.

So, in the end, this is what it is all about. Money. Not the game nor the update time, but simply the money. You're working hard, probably minimum wage and tough physical job, yet someone else is making money by 'sitting and doing easy work'.
There are many people like you. It is the entitlement of "I deserve more! I deserve the money!".
All I can tell you is - this is the entertainment business. You rarely get money based on the job effort. Even if it is heavy effort or low effort. Money is based on the entertainment factor. And let me tell you a secret, our little niche part of the entertainment world is nothing compared to the mainstream entertainment business. Yeah, the plan was for this update to be the smaller and faster one, but since it is going to be the end of season update the quicker updates was moved to the next one.

Another thing I am planning is making shorter updates and faster releases instead of my current long updates with longer updates. Just to test the waters and see how you guys will like that instead. But even then, there will be times that will be changed if there will be events at the length of 'My Name Is Luna', those takes a damn long time to make but are also rare events.

You're throwing accusation at him as if he was guaranteeing to everyone that it's gonna be quicker releases for every single release post-v0.07, but it's not what he said.
Even after this dev post, he said couple of times in this game thread that it's gonna depend on the content, and even before your post, he did say since this (upcoming update) is a season finale, he's taking some more time to put more events/content into it.

Worked hard this month to finish the main event of this event. Gracie Event4 (Story)
It has moved from 89% to 95%, but that because I've added extra stuff to it as I thought it was fitting (a whole new forest scene at the end). So it's more of 35% plus work done on it but just stretched due to new plan.

The plan is still to get it out before the end of the year (will require hard work, but hard work is what I will do!). Right now, I need to focus on the final part of the event and then focus on the last Gracie lewd and season finale scene, which I've already done a lot of the footwork on.

From what I saw, HopesGaming already warned about a very tight schedule to finish the version almost a month ago (november 30th). Then, even with that, he said that was still on the plan to deliver on december. From what I saw, he seemed really motivated to finish and deliver the new release before 2022. From MY perspective, december is a tough month on work - you have a lot to do and a very little time to accomplish before holidays and all what comes with it - covid tests, family reunions, costs, etc. If you can do all your main job without problems, deal with your daily schedule, it's ok. But we are not talking about a main job. Hopes has a main job and developing Delucas is a side-job, or a hobby, as he input.

Other thing that made me think about was this:
Gracie Event5 (Lewd)- 20%
Story Event (season finale) - 30 %
Misc - 35%

The main story event was on early development on november 30th and at that moment, was clear he may have huge issues to keep on schedule, for a dev who does a main job and family to care, besides this project, on one single month. Maybe, Hopes was motivated enough to believe it was possible, but he warned on patreon (TY, johnelros) a probable delay. It is not like for who's are updated from the news on thread, a huge surprise. Besides, it was a delay, not a shutdown, like ocurred on Oath of Loyalty, just for example.

Sadly, won't be out before the new year. I really tried my best to get it out in December, but that just won't be a reality.
Still working hard to get it out quickly tho!

This time, was not one of his patrons who's delivered the news. It was the dev himself who's telled to us - a users/fans on a forum who's in majority, doesn't pay for his work. I respect him for that. Even more, because he seemed pretty annoyed for didn't reach his own expectations to finish earlier.

So far, I have no reasons to not trust on Hopes when he says he seriously tried his best. And I don't believe that is a naive or else. I'm not (yet) paying for his work, but it is a matter of budget at this moment. I'm planning to do on 2022 and the first project to pledge is Delucas.

Besides, from who's lost his father and almost lost one of his sisters due to covid this year, a delayed game is a far lesser problem on this shitty 2021.

I expect a far better 2022 for me, and for all of us.

Pal, you got it all wrong. Supply-demand chain doesnt mean overday delivery, it means someone want something and other delivers. If buyer dont like suppliers schedule than chain brokes, it is simple is that. So if you are not among his buyers, you cant complain. If you are among his buyers you can stop and search another supplier. You are asking for last 8 months but it seems Hopes' patrons think that his deliveries are worth paying even it is in the period of once per year. And as long as patrons are okay with it, schedules like once per month, once per year, once per decade, once per milennia or once per eternity doesnt differ.
