Some do this for their beta version to detour leaks, it works sometimes. Sometimes the dev really doesn't want a broken beta build shared and people will just bitch and moan it's full of bugs/broken/borked

These guys are helping me catch bugs, grey screen errors, typos, wrong sayers etc. I normally do this myself at this stage of development before it goes out to first release.
