It's through Steam sales that many developers can go full-time with their games. On Steam, you can make a year's salary or more within a month or two. And then you get smaller, regular sales payments each month. So I've heard.This fucking obsession with Steam...if anything, the dev looses steam by trying for Steam. And always with an unfinished game, taking months to "perfect" the graphics and animations. Not to mention, the story gets watered down to make things acceptable for the main stream corporate media sight that Steam is. Finish the damn story, THEN OCD away to your hearts content.
It's fucking stupid for a dev to NOT consider putting their game on Steam.
