What? That game started with AI and always was AI. That is one of the few that looks like the real thing and where it is put to good use and used correctly and shows what the tech can and do if used properly.

People should get used to it a lot more games being designated AI slop, the days of tooling away in DAZ and other animation studios is over. Most of the workforce especially one man shows will go fully AI. Only the hold outs (you know developers who have like 15 stations running animations or that have invested heavily in stations and GPU's for animating), the ones that have a team (even then they've still implemented some form of AI help), or ones where AI won't benefit their animations/characters.

We all know it's coming, doesn't mean we shouldn't make a point when it's been done badly. Let's get something clear here, there is AI slop where it's done very poorly (such as in this episode) and then there is well curated AI usage which would not be considered AI slop.

0.8.2 isn't providing a link to the Scene-Gallery-Mod. There's nothing on the menu. I noticed in your 0.7.2 Mod there was a folder called Scene Gallery Mod that is not present in the 0.8.2 mod?

Boy no one is asking for shit ass AI animations. If Bobby had us washing this long for AI slop then he should’ve been up-front with it. Idk why you’re getting mad at the people for waiting almost 8 months for an AI filled update with bad writing when Bobby had hella time to slowly put a good update out and not switch to AI mid-game. Also, who is constantly begging for animations? Most people just want an update that isn’t 5 minutes in length.

Where did I ask for perfection? I just didn't want to be forced to watch something that actually ruined the experience for me. I'm sorry, but if a dev is happy to put AI images/animations like that in their game knowing full well they look terrible, that is not a positive sign for anyone who followed and enjoyed this game. I'm not completely against AI use when it's done well and with good caretaking. This implementation just feels lazy and/or incompetent. I was literally hovering over signing up for the $16 tier earlier today based on what I had played previously, boy am I glad I waited. If he wants to do it right he needs to add a choice and an alternative imo even if that alternative is just still images.

The person replying to you is very likely a LLM bot. All my LLM filters shows their messages very likely to be bot, especially the overuse of punctuations and the speed of replies. I suspect many AI defending people as well, because you gotta be delusional to defend it when you can clearly see the gen-AI didn't even try to recreate game's style and instead slapped a pornstar face on top like the scene on the couch.

For anyone going with the dumb narrative AI is future and not everyone has insane rigs or such., you don't have to perfect your animations. You can make animations yourself on a low-end rig by rendering in lower quality and framerate and then apply framegen/interpolate and upscaling to increase the quality. This not only cuts the time of render time more than half but also produces similar quality at the end even on older machines.

Is there a universal mod to stop the delay in every fucking dialogue line? Like you read that line, click to read the next text, and there is a 1-second delay or so to show the next line... Damn, it's agonizing. I like to read fast. I'm trying to figure out why the dev put this lousy feature in the AVN.

Well said! In the next 1 to 5 years from now 80% to 99% of most Visual Novels will be made using A.I. and there is nothing wrong with that as it keeps getting better every year, and especially for Devs / Creators that work alone and don't have a team, or have a small or limited amount of resources. A.I. is happening whether we like it or not.

Personally, The East Block Chapter 8 was very well done with some minor hiccups and it will continue to get better. Thanks for sharing and good point made on AI, too! Cheers!

I want to say that the update was good, but the big fat minus of this update is the poorly used AI and the tool from the author who did not test and play with it properly if it was necessary to fix the frames in the animation scenes and then release it and say in advance that in this version there will be added AI animations and the game would be good with animations done properly, but a big minus for the AI, but a good plus for the story of Catherine in this update.

The animations are really bad, and yes, they are completely unskippable, as they repeat twice.

For me, it was a nice update, and it wasn't short at all. The animations need to be revisited, the protagonist looked like another person. But otherwise, I really liked both the plot and many of the scenes created.

I understand where you're coming from and I am sure the Dev is taking note to improve the VN moving forward. As I mentioned before, I definitely enjoyed The East Block Chapter 8, but the minor hiccups in the VN didn't bother me. Overall it was good as well as the story, and it's getting better, too.
