Pretty sure you misunderstood my whole point: It's NOT about VN vs RPG, nor One Choice vs Multiple actions.
It's about the quality of the Grind / Interaction / Outcomes.
Key words: Well paced, Content Rich, Not Mindless.
Taking TFC as example: Why it needs to be 10 times per stage for Dad/ Brother? Why not 3 times? How about 30 times? Why You Are forced to repeat the SAME Scenes so many times, everytime is exactly the same, only some "Number Change"?
(To clarify, "repeat" means "Taking Action > Receive outcome" The whole process.)
You Don't have "Repeated Event" in real life, everytime there'll be something different - Not just some arbitrary number increase.
Same for game, We want the game world to be responsive to our actions.
And there's also one simple solution: Provide Contents if you want to lengthen the process. If you don't have many Scenes / Events, shorten the grind.
If I recall Correctly, in Grizzly Grove, even when you needs to work on your stats, the events changes rapidly, You don't repeat the same thing many times. And TFC also improved in later routes.
"Mindless Grind with the same Scenes / Events" Provide value to no one, other than Prolong player Engagement.
And here, The "Engagement" is not entertainment, just Time Wasting.
In fact, Many players doesn't mind / opt-in to have their time wasted (Most MMORPG / Mobile game), but that's their Choice, it shouldn't be forced upon player.
If you solely want entertainment, not porn, why play Porn Games? They are inferior to Non-Porn Games due to many unsolvable reasons, such as prioriy / funding / scope.
Also, for many people, Porno (movies / pictures) can't do the trick, cuz they don't offer the "interaction" aspect a Porn game does.

Respecting players' time: Provide value / reward for the time player spend in the Game.1. Not necessarily : just because it isn't good, doesn't mean it's bad either. Also, it's subjective to what each individual consider good and bad.

I meant Non-Porn Games which solely be judged by their Gameplay. The most recent perfect example are Baldur's Gate 3, Alan Wake 2, Sea of Stars, etc.Well, I may be in the minority because I play porn games to have fun, have a good time, appreciate the worldbuilding and characters. Porn is just a bonus, a reward for doing eveything right. If I wanted only that, movies and pictures that can be found everywhere on the net would be enough (and erotic stories would be useless).

Referring to top. The Process to reach those "Milestones" are also important.Having one action only unlocking everything is also a bad mechanism. You can't expect a one in a lifetime action to bear fruit everytime, just like that.
Maybe you consider it "Time Wasting Mechanics" but reaching a milestone is what those stats are usually for. If you're more intelligent, fit, beautiful, well dressed, have more money (add what stat you want to continue), it's normal to have access to more content. Nobody is interested in a neglected MC that stays locked in his room and can't do nor afford anything. Also, doing the same thing with different outcomes (success/failure, different media, different way to gain a stat, alone or with someone else...) is the right way to do it.

Like I mentioned earlier, There are plenty of games do that, Just not Porn Games.I already said it in another thread but i would love a day in which a game will implement that if you wear his favorite colour, the character will be more open, if you have a tatoo with a flower, the gardener will be touched, if you have a baseball ball, bat and glove, the neighboor fan of that sport will come seeing you himself, and so on. Oops, I'm being carried away.
For me, NPC's reactions are as important as player's choice and it's never implemented (even more in a harem game in which the girls are just sex dolls).
