Restarted the game from the beginning as I wanted to refresh my memory and forgot the superb humor.
Props to Vanderer for the books Athagan gave the MC in Part 1 ("Fungus! An Alchemist's Point of View" :ROFLMAO:)
Never say Athagan isn't a Fungi....

.... you sure????
the mc is in submissive position and she staring hard at his ass,so that look is more like "Sariel wants to "give" the D"
Nah, Sariel's a classy lady. Dirtiest she'd do is fingering his prostate while she blows him.
There though she was definitely just contemplating what chocolate starfish tastes like. Probably also wondering if she should take advantage of that fact that she in fact is a member of her own house whom MC is the breeder of.

To be fair, MC playing a "submissive" role is just due to royal vs noble ranking. He did deny her already when first asked to marry matriliniearly.
Also growing some decades into the role of queen especially after her becoming the sole ruler and revenge against the black hand pretty much forced her play the role of a strong figure. You can't surmise sexual preference based on the interactions so far. There are cracks in the queen's mask already showing her being insecure especially concering her daughters or choice that bite her back after a certain time (looking at Eloise).

Um ... you realize that was just a joke about the MC's positioning on the table, right?

is Avila not a mage? Her father is the strongest human archmage and her mother as an ex-priestess should also be able to use magic

although having a magical parent does increase the odds, whether or not you inherit a Spark is still up to chance(i also believe this to be the cause for a Flame but for now the MC's children are 1/1 for that)

well, I guess it's understandable that it is up to chance...if it were guaranteed, a mage guy would marry all the mage girls he can to create 100s of mage kids, and probably even the ruler would have been mages...the demons would have been wiped before the story even began

yeah if it were that easy mages would probably be even more common then they are now. and eventually become more common then non-mages as they'd get berd out

as mage can born from non mage parent, a non mage can born from mage parent.

spark is the source of elemental lighting, as flame is for elemental fire, the elemental ice source is called shard and drop is for water elemental magic.
the source of magic sensu stricto is called arcane.

the MC had a huge pool of arcane, a strong flame and decent spark. maria only the flame for the moment, because the arcane manifest at puberty

Yep, becoming a mage or not is a probability thing, as far as mages know.

You can be born from two mundane parents, but having a mage as parent raise the odds. Having two nearly guarantee it, but it's still not 100%.

An example: Sariel's parents were mages, and she is mundane. Ot Athagan, who only had a mage as grandfather, andd no one else magical in his close ancestors.

Having a mage drop a conjured anvil on you reduces your chance of your future offspring being mages by 100% (as far as the player could see, aka. referencing the necromancer)
