precision and control are two hard cap. can be improved, but not by a lot.
and the MC it's totally suck at control.

I kinda feel like his control is fine aslong as he can store the arcane in his hands everything beyond just seems hard for him but as long as he doesnt seem to have to pull from his core he seems fine

I wonder if some of Athagan's most tricky techniques will have to skip a generation so to speak. the MC's daughter will probably have a more normal mix of power and control, both from her mom's magic being good at precision and from the fact that her fire is tamed at a WAY earlier age.
Honestly, the town we live in has about 5 years to fireproof as much as they can before over a dozen possible pyromancer nobles start manifesting their powers. some will have lots of control and not cause problems, but just based on the numbers that are going to be coming at the same time there are going to be some reckless ones like the MC (lots of power, no control).

I am curious why you think his daughter wouldnt have control issues since it is the flame that seems to be the problem which she also has not sure how her mother would help that. like i said he seems fine unless he needs to pull from his core the fact he learned the summon in a couple of days shows this imo.
From what i took from the story the mc is able to use his flame always with no to a little energy cost. he can combine them (firestorm) for a decent amount of energy but to be able to use just the arcane he needs to seperate it from his flame compress it in his hands otherwise his flame will interfere causing control issues but this is just specualtion vander can give a good answer for this

Why I think Maria, the MC's daughter with Karla, will probably have more control over her magic than the MC when she grows up:
1: she got to have the fire ceremony before her power manifested fully, something the MC didn't get to have
2: The MC's first use of his power was killing his entire human side of the family, and he had to overcome his psychological barriers before he could even start training, we see Maria begin her training without that trauma at the end of the current update.
3: Magical talent seems to be somewhat genetic, and Karla is an enchantress, a specific branch of magic that seems to require a LOT of precision. If Maria inherits magic skills from both sides then she is going to inherit a type of magic that has a lot of power but not much control from us, and a type of magic with a lot of control but not much power from her mom.
I dunno it just seems obvious that Maria, and all the kids the MC is going to have in the coming years, are going to have a lot more control than he did. whether that comes at the expense of magical power is unknown.

It honestly might be a little awkward in the future for Solange and any kids of the MC that don't inherit the flame. there will be the kids that do inherit something magical and thus get a lot of attention from the MC (not saying this in a "he'll neglect the non-mages" but in a "yeah you gotta make sure the young pyromancers don't kill anybody accidentally") and all the non mages will get a lot less attention. he will love them all but in the next 5 years there's going to be 30+ kids, so some are going to get less attention.

All the kids are going to have less father attention individually and on average, but in a way they will have many mothers, so there's no apparent danger of neglect.
As for them being mundane, well, so is Sariel.

yes, is confirmed she will have some scene in future. this make athagan death highly probable, and it's very sad. but hope he can go in a ultra badass way because he earned it, multiple time.
