Latest update looks very good; I like the faun/satyr lady.
Vander's even more battle action hero than main character (MC) Henri originally was in The Fiery Scion!
he does have discord but try accessing it through game he doesn't post it here foe some reason! Next update in my opinion shouldn't be for at least two more weeks AT LEAST, more likely public just before Christmas.
Bro you REALLY gotta STOP throwing every bit of gold that the pc doesn't want at the orphanage. Right now I'm half expecting to walk in there and see the place decked out like a royal palace. I realize that you are trying to present the pc in a good light. But surely there have to be OTHER good causes .. right?
They will use many of that gold for new roof and few other things, because times were much tougher in town before Mc started helping and forming adventurer party!

after he has arrived its still a orphanage even IRL they mostly run on donations,Athagan pays for their food costs and that's it.
Lady Solah is probably busy taking care off the youngest teaching/educating them how she can whilst she also has to cook, clean etc.(Alyah the mc's 2nd slave, probably took over loads off chores though) plus she's getting old.
So she doesn't have time to earn money, yes the kids do odd jobs but that probably doesn't get paid more then pocket change.
all that means that if Solah or the kids need/want anything more they almost entirely depend on charity.
Dude it's like 5/6 kids they are effectively aristocrats now. Sorry but it's really an overused device. And the stipend wasn't just for food it was to run the orphanage. Coupled with the fact that most kids weren't even being taught to read and write as is shown in the latest updates. Sorry but the amount of gold that orphanage has now is actually just ridonkulous XD
The school project is cool and much better in scope. But that orphanage with like a handful of kids that has the sole purpose of feeding, clothing and housing the kids does NOT need as much gold as it's been given lol.
Well your wrong on few fronts. First you see orphanage by our standards and in the game its not the same, mainly because over there children are seen as asset (decreasing population an all that). Secondly food is very expansive for common people, thats why Mc started that business (one of the reasons). So all these thing add up, but orphanage will set some money a side for rainy day!
Just played all parts so far, I honestly really enjoyed it. I think some people get really hung up on having the MC struggle and stuff. But I honestly just love the fact that my MC walks around gets lucky all the time (in more ways than one), and pretty much messes up everyone who dares give him a hard time. Typical power fantasy I guess? And I'm all for it!
Does anyone know of any other games that are similar to this one?
I do in fact understand the lore but there's only so much food you can stuff into a kids face and luxury you can give them before you're kinda .. done. The way they are still dressed. I have suspect the matron is pocketing all the dough at this point lol. I'm not getting the lore wrong. You're getting the value of gold wrong XD The first time was okay .. the second they are set for their budget for years .. the third .. is just excessive spending to make the mc look good. Becaue money to orphans. For most base level peasants just SEEING a gold coin is rare. They mostly trade in silver and copper. Buying the enchanting shop cost 450 gold. To buy out a PROPERTY .. OUTRIGHT. And not a bad property either. I think the orphanage has that amount several times over by now.
Of course, Lady Solah isn't embezzling but people may have a point orphanage receives excessive gold. It's not bad; maybe not realistic, as others explained (value of gold) above. When I played D&D my world (at age 12, didn't know) the prices were like 1 copper was like 1 penny; 1 silver was like a dime/10-pence, and 1 gold was like a dollar/pound (because I saw gold-looking pounds as a kid, more likely bronze but maybe not centuries ago). This is unrealistic; in Mediaeval times, these were worth a lot more: one Robin Hood comic book has a guy offering two or three pence for a feast, which was realistic at the time.
Maybe there's more to the orphanage, but I didn't see. I'm unsure there are even 10 people, but if it was closer to 100 (is it?) the gold might make sense. Maybe people have a point if there are other expenses for adults and it needed repairs. I don't remember about the stipend... I thought they were still getting that for food, in which case they wouldn't need more for food, just other things (which may make sense or not).

Don't think about it too hard. Monica's healing potions cost 5, Aoife's trash romance novel cost 5, furnishing Maria's room cost 1. Karla's shop cost 400. Athagan's book (which nobody else could even open) cost a lot. Her maj throws around 1 and 10 THOUSAND gold bonuses for good work. MC won a couple hundred large from betting on a fistfight and the winter queen's ransom was half a mil. There's just not enough data points there to deduce the entire economy.

Well, for most things I try to use DnD prices, divided by ten. Of course, I also try to adjust to the setting itself. Food cost more, the shop was less since Wildale has a hard time attracting people, for example. Sariel has a tendency to reward the party very handsomely because it's lead by the son of her best friend, and her "son-in-law", too. As for the fistfight, the MC bet a lot, and the odds were that high because Aeris never lost before and is big as fuck compared to Cinthia. Fun fact, sometimes I can't decide how an event will unfold, and I just throw a dice like in TTRPGs. In that fight, IIRC, the DC was 16...and Cinthia rolled a 19.
The orphanage, honestly the MC don't think much about it. He don't want to be paid to marry a woman, and he tought that Avila's idea of gifting money to the orphanage was fantastic. Solah is planning on rebuilding the orphanage totally, since the building is very old.

Yep. But not only, I love boxing in general. Cinthia's fight was isnpired by it, but Athagan, it was by the original hitman, Tommy Hearns, the Motor City Cobra.
I hope The Fiery Scion has a balanced number of black-haired, blonde, redhead, love interests (LI). There are a lot of redheads in the game (and that's good) if they're similarly (to Earth) low percentage, and early on I didn't think there were enough blondes. I haven't checked characters codex lately (some need updating/adding) but last time there finally seemed balanced number even since several updates. I forgot if that's similar number or just enough of both uncommon colours to be interesting. Of course, some people like non-black brown hair, other ethnicities, fantasy races, so good they're there also. Vander mentioned a trip somewhere similar to Asia/Japan, so it'd be neat if there are LI there also...
