i think he only confirmed lily will join the harem at some later point..

its the fans that concluded that would likely mean Athagan will die

One of my fav games after searching for years trough all that shit out there , love the plot and everything, for my taste its nearly perfect , sadly each chapter is like wrote by someone else, I know its common issue with vns but somehow I cant stand that small detail, and I know how it looks mostly in this "industry" with developing and stuff , no time , personal matters and such, but updates are rare, and with each new update there is a bigger gap between what that game was meant to be and what it in fact is now. Could do with more no sex scenes stories adventures etc but its only my wish. Will ofc still support that game and be a huge fan of it , best wishes for devs !

My theory on how what's gonna occur is that the Mc is gonna become the catalyst for peace between Winter and Summer Sidhe considering both princess'es are his beloved and that will rally them to the cause of defeating the demons which is the end game result of saving the mortal realms. [...]
Maybe he can have them both in bed at the same time. Titania is good-looking too, but maybe Athagan likes her.

Vanderer Hi, just wanted to ask, this [the one labelled in the op] is your official itch page right? Wanted to make sure since you don't mention it on your patreon and there is no logo of it in your game. Its where i usually download your game builds from. cheers

The Mc whining about materlial marriage just annoyed me so much. It honestly made me hate the mc. I understand being upset about being ordered to marry but the other stuff was just stupid. I was way more annoyed with the MC than the Queen despite the fact that the Queen was supposed to come off as being unreasonable.

Matrilineal? Other game characters involved initially or eventually understand him because of how people were treated. Situation gets solved later, so don't worry about it. The Queen wasn't only unreasonable but some reasons were hidden and found and resolved later.

I mean I already got to the part where he kills the demon controlling the queen. I still think the mc's reaction to the proposal was stupid and annoying though. I'm just saying even though it felt like we were supposed to side with the mc over the queen I found myself doing the opposite and just ended up disliking the mc in that moment. I don't know if he'll win me back later but right now I really dislike him

yeah that was exactly how those events were supposed to make you feel....
a few arguments for how/why you dislike it?

if you're into being a toy for women that's fine, but then this VN might not be for you..

I mean not wanting to be ordered in to a marriage feels fine. That felt reasonable even if I personally wouldn't have made a big deal if I at least liked the person, but I understand why he got upset and felt that was justified. It's after that part was resolved and he went up in arms about not wanting to marry someone matrilineally is the part that annoys me. Like why the fuck does that matter? He's a orphan that got adopted it's not like he's got a family name that he feels he needs to pass down and even if he did it could still be passed down through the children he had with his other wives or concubines. Like why the fuck do you care about that so strongly to throw a hissy fit. I don't really think being married matrilineal means "being a toy for women" as you put it. It's not like the princess is powerful enough to make him do something he doesn't want to do in the first place. The whole thing was just dumb and he didn't even attempt to meet half way. It really felt like I was dealing with a child.

Like if he had a better reason for not wanting to marry Sarah than a matrilineal marriage I'd be less annoyed. Even if he plainly just didn't want to marry anyone at all at the moment aside from the two wives he already has. I feel like that would have been better.

well.
he was made heir before the scene,so he actually does have a family name to protect, the one he got from Athagan whom he considers his father.
all his other wives would still fall under the current family head(which would've been Sariel if he accepted)

also the MC already sees the royal family in a bad light due his 1st wife Karla was being forced/harassed to accept a other marriage proposal by Eliose(the queens 1st daughter) to a member of her husbands family.

the way the proposal was made in a way where he is very much a toy, ordered to have sex, that getting labeled as a "audition" for marriage (devaluing the act of taking Mila's virginity),and when the MC objects he gets ordered to comply under threat of violence.

if accepted the princess would actually become powerful enough to make him do so,the head of the family who has full authority over him by law.
going against the head off house puts someone in a bad spot legally and socially.
don't forget they life in a feudal society.

That's not how matrilineal marriages work. All it means is that the children the couple would have together would take the mother's family name and would be considered part of that noble house rather than the father. It doesn't mean the father would have to give up any titles or holdings they'd already had or that any children they had before hand or afterwards with different woman would join as well. Only his children with Sarah would be part of Sarah's household in an actual matrilineal marriage.

If he's a "toy" then he'd be a toy to the Queen in that situation not to the princess. And he's still a toy then since. But Sarah isn't strong enough to force him to actually do something he doesn't want to do.

Yeah again nobody can make him physically do something. It doesn't matter if they're the "head of the household" that's not the same as being a sex slave. You have a really weird view of marriage if you think being the head of the house means your spouse has to blindly follow what you say no questions asked. Like I said it's marriage not slavery. The mc's objection really comes off more like an ego thing than anything actually sensible.

Yes, and that's not at all how that worked in a feudal society.

his other engagements weren't matrilineal, they joined his family so they fall under his house, doing a matrilineal marriage after that would mean his family(which would include Karla & avila at that point) they to fall under Sarah's family, which would mean the Queen being their head off house would have the final say on matters.
that would included his other children, although yes they are not blood related they would be still be under their father, who in turn would be under the queen.(they'd be some kinda branch or bastard)
the MC would absolutely have to give up any title's or holdings if ordered to do so legally speaking.(not only because she's queen thus his liedge but doubly so with the head house on top)

you're not wrong about it being a ego thing,in that situation he can legally refuse the marriage because he is a mage (thus is granted a lower noble title off knight which grants "marriage rights) which he did because he doesn't want to not be his own head of house in the future.
which i don't think is a bad thing perse.

and they can't force him?
well...let's say he did accept and married her,now the Queen(whom likely would still be under the demons influence because his refusal caused them to discover her) could order him to also marry others, use his money and other assets as they see fit.

sure he could kick & scream but if he doesn't do it/let it happen, then the queen is in her legal right to disown or brand him a criminal (which is a literal thing which could involve magical slavery and being forced to do things regardless of will)

it seems to me you're doing two things:
1.you're confusing the norms & laws off this fictional setting with IRL
2.being hypocritical because you don't like it when he's objecting/resist/rebelling against the marriage, because he could just do it when is actually married(which is where he'd have a lot more consequences)

Yes, and that's not at all how that worked in a feudal society.
that's a very meme way off how it worked ,and still works.
Force doctrine, don't think so? don't pay your taxes and see what happens....

So I don't how how differently the dev set up his fantasy world and maybe it works differently than in real life, but In real life that's how medieval marriages worked. In real life Matrilineal marriages were literally only about inheritance. It does not apply to anything else. Step children do not become part of the household wife's household, only the biological children between the husband and the tile owning wife would become a part of it. It's not like modern times were you marry someone and get their last name and that name would pass down to every kid you'd have after the name change. Even when in feudal times when land holding women married men their holdings didn't automatically become their husbands. Their husbands might manage their property but it was still technically their wives and if the couple divorced the wife would still have those territories while the husband would lose control of it, but that type of stuff generally didn't happen with matrilineal marriages in the first place and the two weren't equal and men in matrilineal marriages usually had more freedom than the reverse. Men in matrilineal marriages would still manage and have complete control over their own territory and would often be co rulers to their wife's territory.

The idea that the mc's other wives and other children would automatically become part of Sarah's house if he married Sarah matrilineally is completely false. They'd be completely unaffected by the marriage. They wouldnt be considered a branch or bastard either they'd just be considered part of the mc's original house and wouldn't inherit anything from Sarah. Matrilineal marriages were more like an alliance between households rather than taking a new family name like in modern times. Even if it was the adopted dad doesn't mind either so I don't see why it would be a problem anyway.
and they can't force him?

You already pointed out that he's legally allowed to refuse so it wouldn't matter if he accepted this one or not. He doesn't suddenly revoke that privilege for all time by accepting once and the Queen still outranks him no matter what.
2.being hypocritical because you don't like it when he's objecting/resist/rebelling against the marriage, because he could just do it when is actually married(which is where he'd have a lot more consequences)

No,my problem was him being up in arms about a matrilineal marriage. I already said him being forced to marry is a reasonable thing to get upset about. I just said that I personally wouldn't have cared as long as it's someone I'm already interested in and not a total stranger. He already said though that the main reason why he's objecting is because it's matrilineal. That's the thing that annoys me and caused me to dislike him. Not the fact he said no, but because it seemed like his main issue was his ego

that's a very meme way off how it worked ,and still works.

No, I meant that's not how medieval marriages work. A man in a matrilineal marriage wouldn't just become completely subservient to his wife.
