Patreon is not a service for buying an end product. It's a way to give money to creators you enjoy so they continue doing whatever they're doing. There is a distinction between those two things; one you should learn before giving your money. You are essentially donating to the person, not paying for a product.

Speaking as someone who was one of Mr. ZZ's patrons. I agree with this completely.

Subbing to someone on Patreon shouldn't be an expectation of a service, or product. But rather it's you giving the creator money because you like them.

We're not political donors, or lobbyists here, getting a bonus for your money is nice, but not really expected.

I'll admit there are creators on Patreon who very much do use the site as a delivery platform for their service (See: literally any female Cosplayer), but when it comes to a free to play game, you can't really have any expectations other than 'hey I get earlier access'.

I would have to disagree with you on that. Why on earth would I donate money to something that doesnt get finished. Its like buying a game thats still in alpha so that the devs can tweek their product. I would not buy that game if there was even a chance that they werent going to finish it and if I did buy it and they took it off the market before its done then i would expect to get my money back. It works the same way here. If you start a game or graphic novel or whatever you want to call it and then you ask for donations so you can work on said game then you are obligated to those people to finish that game. If thats not the case then make sure that it states on your patreon page that you might not finish the project so people can take that into account before donating. Sometimes you just need to man up and do the right thing in life but lately ive noticed how this new generation thinks they are owed the world and they can get away with whatever they want. All this does is hurt the people who actually follow through with their games. They will have a harder time getting donations because of asswipes like this loser.

See i understand your statement. But to Quote you "so they continue doing whatever they're doing". I know that patreon is basically a mix between crowdfunding for everything and being in a stripclub giving Dollar bills to the Dancers. But i have never seen a Dancer receive some bills and then stop dancing before he/she finished. And since people nowdays seem to not really feel responsible anymore when taking money from others. My view on stuff like patreon shifted from "hey i like that i might give them a bit of money to support them" towards "you won't get a dime from me before i have seen you are actually worth it". you are ofc free to give your money to whoever for whatever.. but i have decided a while ago that i go back to the point where i give money to people who actually deliver something that is finished. Cause almost everyone that is uploading games here does have some way or form to send them some money. Yes maybe some of those games might have never reached the point of "completed" without people giving them money while they made it. But then so be it, i much rather have 50% less games but all of those finished. Then literally 1000 that get thrown under a bus somewhere in the middle. ANd while you think i might have to learn what it is to give people my money.. i might think that the people who take my money have to learn to be responsible for it. Cause frankly..when you create a patreon page you basically ASK people to give you money.. its not the other way around

i must agree with you there i changed aswell in that kind of guy, i dont want to support any game thats not atleast near half finished because of so many people who just end games after version dunno 0.3? thats pretty sad how that evolved. i miss times where developers was passionate of that what they did and not just made it for money.

Yea its really sad to see how it all evolved.. I remember a few years ago there was a guy making a game. And somewhen i contacted him cause i just wanted to thank him for his effort. And i took me a while to convince him that me sending him 50 bucks on paypal is ok.. jesus im sure he felt almost guilty for taking money.. Nowadays people well they obviously dont say it out loud.. but if you read between the lines.. its basically either i get... or...

The last update (0.4) was back in September 2017. It is now May 2018, and this comment thread is still active - still discussing Patreon shutting down incest games back in January, still discussing fanfic and someone else rebooting the game, still discussing the flaws and how this game had content that seems to be missing from currently available games out there.

So, what is it that made this so memorable? Was it just the mind control + incest + work? Was it the wish fulfillment of being able to control situations at work & home? Was it the safety and amusement of the player character declaring "You are my slave!" without powers on, and without negative consequences (no game over, nothing done that couldn't be undone)? Did this game actually get people to care about the characters & events? Was it just the graphics (the mom looks like a realistic MILF rather than a 20 year old porn star, etc)?

What is it that keeps us coming back to this game and this thread 8 months after the final update?

I'm not just asking. I'm seriously wondering what an (unauthorized) reboot should include to make it worthwhile to the existing audience.

I guess ppl keep hoping for news of an update, or even news of someone hopefully taking it over. There was nothing that stood out about the game for me personally, but it would be nice to have a wide choice of games, rather than just a few.

I think so, yes. Also, I love how mind control worked in this game. The women kept their personalities but became loyal. They got hot but not too hot or lewd like in corruption.

Well, that was a bit cringy first but then it was fun. Also I liked groping Mom and Sis at night and not being able to make them sleep anymore and there are no consequences.

Did this game actually get people to care about the characters & events?
Kinda. The main story is stupid but still interesting enough to keep you going.

She looks more like a 35yo porn star. But yeah, she's hot.
