I'm excited to jump back into this game, but it seems like a lot of people are finding bugs. Would starting a fresh playthrough help me avoid the bugs or am I better off waiting for the next update?

Already done that.... nothing is their some sort of order in which i have to complete quest or something like if I mess order then i can't get event? but i have tried every option in my office with rachel, alone grade, budge, porn, teaching but nothing helps....

I have absolute no idea why people keep mispelling Rachel's name "Rachael". Is there anything special to call her that or is it just everyone's habit of calling her that?

It's just that people can't spell Rachel. I once came across a youtuber named Rachel, who had a rant about how people in the comments can't spell Rachel despite it being in the channel name. Maybe it's just people who can't spell and maybe it's spellcheck, like those autocorrect mistakes, which are meme worthy. I have tried having a username elsewhere where autocorrect often changed one character to turn it from a rarely used word to a commonly used word. It really highlighted how many forum posts are written with autocorrect enabled. Fun times.

Also, there are quite a few Rachaels around. At least in the games on this site, in real life I never met one. Wikipedia also has a number of "famous" Rachaels, though only a fraction of "Rachels", but it might also differ by culture.

I just played through on the latest version from the beginning to end and didn't hit any bugs that I'm aware of, certainly no crashes. I also did not cheat, so there may be bugs in that I did not run into and can't speak to its bug state. I missed a couple of patrol events in chapter 1 but otherwise did every event.

Most of the bugs came from the beta version. The current version is the patreon release with way less bugs (except for those who use save from the beta).
If you want to have an even more bug free play, wait for the public release of 9th June
In the meantime, you could restard a new playthrough

I had no bugs and went through all the new content. Though I started a new game and did start at day 99.

My gut tells me that Ruth's corruption and story will be tied to Liz's and I want to say Emily (she is the 'accidental nudist' right). Maybe also the main story if the previous headmasters fate comes back into play.

It's probably because you are using a different ver of Renpy... the game is made with Ver 8.0.3.22090809
