The HM is one of the most immoral MC's that I came across in the games on this site. It's a credit to the darkly humorous writing that I still enjoy this game. I would compare it with the movie The Devil's Rejects, where the viewer actually starts rooting for the protagonists, although they were genuine monsters.

I wouldn't mind an ending where the girls turn against their abusers and wreak a bloody revenge, a la Jess Franco's Ilsa The Wicked Warden, but that's indeed unlikely to happen.

I haven't tried it with this version change yet, but it usually works if you download the newer Windows version and then overwrite the "game" folder of the Mac version with that of the Windows version...
The result is then a 1:1 Mac version.
...if the dev hasn't changed anything in the code in between This actually works for all RenPy games.
It's better to make a backup beforehand, but the chances are good that it will work again here.

If you want to make sure the newer Windows build uses the same Ren'Py version as the previous Mac one, compare the files script-version.txt which can be found in both game folders.
Making backups is always a good idea, also to prevent the "I lost my save" syndrome that goes around here

I don't play games on my MacBook as much because my Windows Tower is less stressed with moving images thanks to better airflow, but thanks for the tip anyway!

No headpats anymore for you, they are too strong.
Tried full reinstall with save deletion from appdata. Any ideas how to fix? Its really imposible to play without stats information
Personally I haven't had any issue like this but my usual first step for something like this would be to do a fresh download, possibly from a different filehost, as opposed to just a fresh install in case something corrupted during the first try. I would imagine it's a very isolated, unique problem as I haven't seen any else complain of a similar issue. Beyond that I can't suggest anything other than looking to see who here might have a direct line to the devs and asking them directly.
