life goes on forever, it doesn’t *end*, it simply moves on to new characters; so why should our stories have these weird, imposed notions of endings? The happily-ever-afters are stomach turning, but so are unsatisfactories, unanswered questions, etc.

In another world, Game of Thrones is still running, without the sabotage of an imposed ending, and virtually 100% of fans are far happier.

Game of Thrones isn't still running, it's been trying to crawl out of its grave for decades lmao and guess what? The author is going to die and the story ends anyway. That's why stories are great. They end before we die. The fact that you think no ending is a good thing means you wouldn't know a good story if it slapped you on the ass. Hell, the most critically appreciated stories are the ones that ended instead of being left unfinished due to abandonment, cancellation, death, etc. A good story has a good ending. Anything else is a cash grab, or a lack of creative direction.

To be clear, I don't care about these games not having an ending, but I do agree that plenty of creators on patreon are milking it. Want infinite new girls, locations, events, etc? At least try finishing things as you go. Set a foundation of a game then build on it instead of half-assing everything.

It is fine to extend the game with new plot lines and new characters. Hell, even have a sequel if you like. But don't do that at the expense of leaving existing characters and plots unfinished please.

On the topic of #5, IIRC, the HM has some medical training already. Enough to take care of Faye others on basic things, likely more so than Susan anyway, her wheelhouse is not medical, even if she knows biology and chemistry. Sally and Izzy likely have more direct medical training than her.

Point is, that it should not take a lot to teach him how to do a few things to help her speed up the process. So we could still allow her to do most of the exams, while still getting him involved somehow.

Yeah its a know 7zip problem I think it was cause there are "left over" "to many" bytes 7zip doesn't know what to do with. So it throws an error but still unpacks it fine.

I completely agree. There are issues with the file and I won't be running it unless they're resolved, because I don't trust zip files that have "too many" bytes.

Ask the dev as all archive have the same issue and it isn't the duty of the uploader to fix this things. Either used it or don't. Also I would bet that it would be the same for the Patreon links too.

As has been said many times, the problem is on your end, the file has been tested by many people, and only a few of you are having issues. I still don't know what the problem is, because no one who has tested their system has gotten back to me. Run a virus scan, and a spyware scan, and see what happens then.

Have you tried using itch.io? Either downloading it from itch.io, or by getting a free account, install the desktop launcher, and installing the game through it.

I use itch.io for games with a sensible public release cycle, and for games like Harem Hotel, or The Headmaster, it doesn't make much sense.

Some have, some have used file downloaders to verify the archive, updated 7zip/winrar, and almost everything else I can think of so far, other than running virus and spyware scans (no one has tried that and gotten back to me yet, like I said).
The files here have been tested by myself and others many times, and only a handful of people are seeing a problem, so the odds of it being a problem with the file is incredibly slim.

If anyone has any other ideas, I am looking forward to hearing them.

Itch.io is meant to verify a few things, at a few stages. But a corrupted download will still be corrupted if there's a network issue. This could be driver based, network (inside the premises or outside), or even anti-virus causing problems. A House in the Rift (AHITR) gets this complaint a lot, but it updates monthly, so you'd expect to see it more. I saw some Harem Hotel complaints a while ago, but they were apparently fine when people used the MEGA app and the MEGA mirror.

Outside of one post on Itch, I hadn't seen this issue outside of this post, for this game (the Headmaster). But bigger games are an issue, I guess.

Given checksums, we can at least rule out network issues, but most games don't do that ...

Your archiver inlcudes (or not) some info in the archive header which other person archiver does not expect to see (or does). So it warns about it but still can uncompress as the data is not corrupted and algoritm is known.
Given abundance of software and versions, the possible compressor\uncompressor combinations are as endless as warnings about potential header error. So far it seems 7zip based software is especially picky about the header args.
e.g.
ant-zip compessing + 7-zip extracting = success with warning header error
ant-zip compessing + win-zip extracting = success without warning

Yes, they are archive header errors (7Zip) and it was talked about before. At least the files I've downloaded have them all (different source).

They still work and the only one that can change that is the dev of the game - other than have someone download, repack and reupload it.

If anyone want to read more about, that read a few pages back. Also, as always, if you use the links here or not, is 100% up to you and if you don't trust the links - for whatever reason - then don't use them.

It is happening to a bunch of games, and as I said, I, and others, have all checked these games, and not had any issues. Also, they have tested from several hosts.

The downloader will check the file, and compare it to the original, that means that it has been verified that it downloaded correctly.

The only thing that makes sense, unless I am getting bad info (people are lying to me), is that something is changing it on the pc itself, after it's been downloaded. So, I don't have a lot of other ideas. If someone finds a fix for it though, please let me know, so I can test it and let others know.
