The Early Game Dilemma
HM starts with 10 Discipline and 10 Grades, but while Discipline is below 20, Grades are falling by 1 each day, and while Miss Potts has a low level, there is also a random chance that Discipline drops by 1-2 points per day, too. When Discipline or Grades reach zero, it is Game Over. (Hint for Coding : check if value <= 0 instead of value == 0 in case that HM is hit by a massive drop in discipline/grades and goes negative.)
So the highest priority for HM in the first 2 weeks is to increase Discipline above 20 and train Miss Potts. Grades and Popularity are less important.
At evening the HM can either spy on the girls in the dorm or visit the apartments and train Miss Potts. The spy events usually are connected to the day's events, showing some girls with their red butts or other girls talking about the HM and events. Some spy events give insight into the girls' individual character while other events like spying on a group of girls taking a shower are only for entertainment and not connected to current events. The spy events are well written and add to the atmosphere of the game. However due to higher priority for Discipline and Miss Potts (and other staff quests), the HM will miss most of the spy events in the first weeks. He can view them in the following weeks but then they are often no longer related to actual events or the HM has discovered the individual traits of the girls through different events. The player could save the game at evening and first check the dorms, then reload and do Miss Potts, but this is usually not the preferred way to play games.
To not loose the atmosphere of the spy events, I would consider to remove the jump to the end-of-day after spying. The HM then could check/spy the dorms and afterwards visit the staff or go to bed. This would improve the early game.
