Ren'Py - The Headmaster [v0.16.3] [Altos and Herdone]

The promise of this game is just excellent.

A "grinding" type of AVN, but with the right setting, the many differences in girls due to a school type environment, and a focus on bdsm/discipline.

What is there to ask for more?

I hope the next updates go on in the right direction because this start is wonderful.

The more I play this game, the more I love it. While it actually doesn't really tick a lot of my fetish boxes, the writing, setting and extremely hot cast of girls (what can I say, I love Honey Select) makes me enjoy each and every play session.

For someone far removed from his student days, games like this with an older MC have a special appeal since it's easier to self insert or at least relate to the situation. Said situation isn't unique (I can think of at least two other games with the same or a similar premise), but it's incredibly well-realized here.

Positives:
+ Fun setting
+ Smart writing with lots of laughs (I was literally laughing out loud during the + Incredibly hot characters
+ A ton of content

Negatives:
- If you're not into a large power balance disparity or spanking and shit like that, this might be a hard sell
- Tends more towards the humorous rather than serious, so don't expect any real heartfelt love moments
- YMMV on Honey Select models

As you can see, those latter two negatives are barely that, but to talk to the first negative point, I'm actually decidedly NOT into either, but the game manages to do it without it being off putting. The game also does a great job of keeping its tongue firmly in its cheek in terms of just how fucked up the situation actually is. I like when games have a self-awareness to them without breaking the fourth wall or devolving into seeing how many memes they can cram into each line.

Note devs: Bravo! An absolute delight of a game. Please just keep up what you're doing and those updates coming. This game joins the list of those I've supported via itch.io.

This game is amazing for one reason: the sheer amount of content. There was so much to do, so many unique characters, so many individual stories to explore. It was easy to forget I was playing an early version (0.10.1) of the game.
Most of the gameplay events are accompanied by images or animations and that means there are lot of them. The animations are not even reserved for sex scenes. For example there are multiple animations for sports lessons. The effort put into this game is clearly visible.
Of course the game is not perfect. The main storyline is easily forgotten between the various events and character stories. The individual images and animations are good, not amazing. However that does not matter when the game design works as well as in this game.
I did not even like the spanking in this game, one of its main aspects. Yet I could not drop this game after starting to play it. It is that good.

Very nice game with plenty of content for >24 hours of decent game play.
Fetishes presented in the game are totally up my alley and there are a huge cast of characters which makes it great to explore and expand in the future.
Can't wait for future updates!

This is the game that started it all for me. The beginning of my journey into adult games, and boy, did it set the bar high!

The Headmaster is set in a fictional country where the government has approved the testing of 'unconventional' methods of discipline on students to help improve graduation rates.

While the game and its premise definitely require the suspension of disbelief, which adult game does not?

Not quite a virtual novel, but more so an interactive sandbox with the usual limited actions per day mechanic. You are able to gradually corrupt girls, adapting and fine-tuning your approach as you go.

If you're wanting to play an egotistical megalomanical headmaster that seeks to corrupt, humiliate, degrade, and perform all manner of unspeakable acts on his colleagues and students, this game is perfect for you!

Thoroughly enjoyed it, and find myself checking the discord regularly to see whether there has been an update.

Animations aren't really out of the world, but you don't really notice it because the game does a great job of drawing you into the story, and making you focus on corrupting each girl as much as you can.

There are some continuity issues every now and then where the girls don't act like they would in real life when you next meet them after just having mistreated them a couple of days ago, but that's par for the course in sandbox games.

Definitely a big recommend!

The Headmaster is a sandbox VN about a researcher on improving behavior at schools. It's set in a kind of near future alternate universe where youth delinquency has skyrocketed, and your experimental methods involving corporal punishment and sexual assault are needed to teach the next generation of young women the discipline that they lack. The writing is decent but like a lot of sandbox VNs the grind becomes a chore after a while. The renders are definitely Honey Select models and the animations are a bit choppy. Sound and music is used to decent effect. The writing was pretty good, I just couldn't handle that grind.

This is the best game ever, i love the story, the mystery and the sex scene is repeatable, it's really feels like living inside their universe. It's have a great potential too with many character and each character has their own story, it's not easy to feel bored. Since it's setting is in school it's easy to add new characters thus we never run out of things to do.

I like this game a lot. An interesting story and many beautiful girls. Great renders. The quests are almost all complete so I hope The developer will introduce more. Especially involving my favorites AMY, and PRITI.

It's a credit to the game's writing that it managed to hold my interest even though mediocre Honey Select renders and light BDSM aren't exactly things that blow me away. The pace at which the game doles out sexual content is also pretty glacial, especially in the beginning, but the game throws a huge cast of girls at you and manages to make almost all of them likable or interesting in some way, so you kind of just get into a groove of going around and doing your thing, always wanting to see the next interaction. The robust quest system with clear directions on what you need to do makes the sandbox elements a lot more painless than in worse games.

The writing rides a fine line of trying to be cute or comedic a lot but it ends up working more often than it doesn't. Many character moments and interactions in this game are just fun and adorable, like the DnD sessions, the fake reality TV show, the water pistol fight, etc. Other things like the edgelord atheism references or the "hilarious" character names like Mykock, Kuntz, and Swallows (get it? it's a porn game) were a little grating.

In general, the game kind of has a problem with tone in that it's a little too wholesome for its own good. It's set in a dystopia and you're for all intents and purposes brainwashing young girls against their will in a penal colony dressed up as a high school, but the game doesn't seem to want to dwell on that too much besides some foreshadowing that the people funding the school probably aren't all that kosher.

The worst is that the MC waffles between thinking what he's doing is altruistic or at worst a necessary evil and then he has random moments where he's like "yeah, I'm just an asshole and like to abuse women." You only get a few good/evil choices but they don't really seem to do much, except one of them literally leads to a gameover, which was pretty lame. Also, if you are going to cuck your game for Patreon, at least make an uncensor patch. All this talk about safewords and consent in a dystopian, misogynistic maledom game is pretty fucking cringe and makes my eyes roll up into the back of my head.

All in all the game is too tame/vanilla for my sick tastes and I often wished you had more chances to contextualize the MC's actions and roleplay a bit more, but despite that I still couldn't put the game down and had a pretty good time. I just wish you could actually make some choices and the devs didn't try to turn their game about non-consent into some roleplay shit that makes no sense because Patreon bucks. I was close to rating this 4 stars, even though the porn content was kind of "meh," but then the game pissed in my cornflakes with the lectures about safewords.

This game is great. I find the graphics a bit dated for 2021, but the character models really grow on you with time.

Speaking of characters, there are so many wonderful characters to punish.

This isn't a comedy game, but the jokes that are in the game really landed well for me. It had me laughing out loud multiple times.

The majority of the interactions in the game are animated and with sound. The music is easy on the ears.

Honestly one of the best porn games I’ve played great characters, great scenes, great environment, easy UI, the fathers really grow on you as you do more an more quests and have more and more encounters

So I'm not the kind of guy who will say I'm here for the plot, but it doesn't look very interesting. Quality wise, not very good either, lots and lots of grind and uneventful stuff for rewards that extremely underwhelming on a vanilla HS that doesn't really look good as well. Despite the large amount of content, it's just flat out boring.

Not worth the grind.

If you want to spend the whole afternoon grinding in this game whilst not even getting an erection, then this is the game for you. Also the game in it's current state has a lack of vaginal penetration scenes anyways, I'm into dominance, but even that is not enough to save this game for me.

This is my second ever review as I am a typically selfish lurker. The Headmaster is in my top 5 games that I've played at F95 and I like to think of myself as the discerning sort, so in my opinion, this game is the equal of games like Good Girl Gone Bad, Summertime Saga, Harem Hotel etc, if not better in many respects.

There are some reviews which feel that the graphics are not upto snuff, and that's subjective, if you can't get over the art style that's perfectly fair. However, I thought the aesthetics were more than adequate, and that the facial expressions in combination with the sound effects and in particular the camera direction all make for an unusually polished game.

Polished. Clever. Erudite. Funny. Kinky. Engaging. Patient. And very rewarding. My congratulations and thanks to the devs, this is a landmark game.

I did not like it at all. It was boring on a whole other level. The graphics look really cheesy to be honest. Well but just because I didn't enjoy it it dosen't mean that it's bad. I mean look at the other reviews. The only thing that I kind of liked is the system hat the game is using.

This is some pure degenerate stuff. While it's not insane BDSM, it's enough to be fun and exciting.

I can see scope issues with this game in addition to having an overall score mechanic that may need balancing, if it wants to use it seriously that is.

Since there's so many characters, one needs to do all scenes with them. That's a lot of work, in addition to just advancing a character's story.

Then the score system is really grindy at first, leading into ezpz don't even think about it management.

overall, I'm giving it a 5 star just because I enjoyed what I played. I enjoy the writing. I've laughed at loud a few times to this game. It's not serious, and thank god for that.

As the title and overview suggest you take on the role of Headmaster at a school for girls who have failed to graduate. You take on the responsibility to whip these girls into shape to become productive members of society. Your research has shown that using a combination of good ol' fashion corporal punishment along with the power of porn-, er, "pleasure," bring about the best behavior changes.

The entire set up is a giant excuse to spank and rub on girls, but the game does an AMAZING job of making it believable within the context of the game, and selling you on the idea that MC really cares about doing it for the good of the girls more than his own pleasure (though he take great pride and pleasure in his work).

The writing is great. Each of the girls' stories are very unique and engaging, and finding out what makes them tick is joyous. The writing as well contains a great deal of humor. I can't remember the last H-game that made me laugh this much.

On a mechanics side, the ability to replay literally every scene in the game, even insignificant random encounter scenes is fantastic. And even more, the game has a built in cheat menu to help unlock different scenes and options you have have missed or chosen against the first time through. I've never seen a game commit so much to helping you find and review all its content, and it is truly appreciated.

It speaks volumes that I am not a fan of the whole pain in sex fetish, it's just not for me, but even with that being a core focus of this game, not only do I still love this game, but I cannot think of anything bad to say about it. This is a must play for H-game fans.

I'm a huge fan of honey select games ngl. But this game left me conflicted. Great writing, awesome characters, decent character progression, everything a perfect game need is here. Albeit I have only one bad point to complain about and that is number of sex scenes. I for one can't fap to the blowjob and other foreplays. I need real action which it's lacking.

As many said below, it is slow paced (Reminds me of midnight paradise). So dev is really taking his time. Hopefully the wait will worth it. May have to continue next year i think. Thank you anyway for sharing such a good game with us dev. Wish u good luck.

Great ideas.. Influence stat should be more detailed imho for better realism. Some short tips in which order gaining influence would be helpfull. Nevertheless superb game. Cheating red buton is fine but demo mode would be even better ( self playable demo until stats reach demanded levels )

This is my first review after being on this site for over half a year. Felt like I had to write one seeing that this is the BEST game I have played currently out of dozens of games that I've tried on this site.

The way you slowly & gradually corrupt the girls and try to get the staff onboard is amazingly well done, combined with solid writing and nice animations. All the girls are pretty in their own unique way and everyone has their own fully-fleshed out personalities & kinks/fetishes.

I actually consider becoming a patreon as this game completely blew my mind. Can't wait to see this game receive more updates in the future and also keep playing more after a good night's sleep! Already spent 5 hours or so and there is still more content to be "explored". Seems like there is enough content for those of you that likes to wait until a game is more fleshed out (I am one of those people, which also made me reluctant to try this).

Be aware that there is quite a lot of grinding in this game, however in my honest opinion it is well worth it! For those of you who wants to cut to the chase there is always cheats that you can use to unlock all the scenes immediately, however I am taking my time with this one as this game has such amazing gameplay that I believe that cheating is NOT worth it at all.
