30 mins in, i have no idea how to level up, interact with people other than the girls in the manor, or fight bosses. So yea, it is a dark souls clone.

you have to get Alma her limbs, and then the option to level up will appear on her dialogues

Figure it out. The level up part at least. You just have to ...fuck the doll. Soo, like bloodborne, but less subtle.

The text going out of the screen on the right, many strange symbols and the menu being complete gibberish doesn't help. It's obvious this game is good and it's probably amazing for the japanese audience, but for everyone else it's barely bearable. I want to love this game and immerse in it in but the MTL kills my genuine excitement. Well, I'll give it a go and try to finish it, if not, I can always check the game files for the CGs.
