They've been redoing many of the renders for copyright reasons for most of last year and I don't think there's been anything new regarding that so they are going to bleed a lot of subscribers until they can actually continue the story.
What copyright issues? I don't think i saw things like that in the game.

Yeah this entire delay is simply because they don't think steam will let them put their game on the platform if there are pictures of real band posters within the game. So this entire time, they've been remaking and re-rendering the early game. Absolute braindead decision that has cost them a lot of goodwill.

"Oh I'm so burned out with all this redoing the same thing over and over" - Well no fucking shit, Einstein. They claimed they had 3000 renders to redo, and that it was taking 4 hours for each one. Photoshop could do it in a week, AI could do it in an afternoon once you set it up right - but nooooo.

They're just assuming that it will be popular & make them a boatload of money on steam, too. That phase has been and gone, people aren't stuck inside due to covid anymore.

I dunno about you guys, but I sure as shit ain't buying it. Monumentally stupid decisions aside, the guy's ghosted for a good while now and I don't reward bad devs.

Is there any game that made a return after slapped abandoned tag? I am not talking about one or two updates then dead again games, really came back and saw the finish line? :unsure:

"Finish line" may be asking for too much since not many have been completed, but I've seen devs come back and resume updates after being gone for like a year or so.

Thanks, that's assuring at least but lately I realized growing numbers of abandoned tags, at least the games I follow so that made me concerned.

It's very rare to come back at all after getting the tag, but it does happen - especially if the dev keeps posting (but that's no guarantee...)

All of this because of the... posters?? FFS you can literally open photoshop, use freaking AI to alter those posters, save the renders, put it back in, ship the update = everyone is happy. Facepalm...
Then you would have to disclose that AI was used in the making of the game. And that is a strike against for some buyers.

Sad to see this one get the tag, I had not even realized it had been that long since the last release. The game premise was great, I liked the aesthetic a lot too, What a shame.

Even assuming that you're fine with using AI in your project, the hard/long part isn't actually changing the image, it's scrubbing through every render carefully to make sure you catch it all and then deciding what you want to replace it with. They're also presumably working on the next update at the same time so there's not a ton of reason to push an update that's nothing but the decopyrightification update when you might as well just do it alongside your next actual update.

Yep. Summertime Saga. 2 days after F95 slapped the tag, DarkCookie announced a release date.

Such a coincidence. :sneaky::sneaky::sneaky::sneaky:
