THS Illustrated is one of my favorite AVNs so far.

Don't know if your previous artist can provide the character models so the new artist must not create them from scratch, but I hope he can make them as similar as possible while still keeping his own style and bring them to the next level.


Regarding porting data from part 1 to part 2:

A questionnaire is good and valid and probably even necessary to make sure part 2 works standalone.
But it would be nice if the choices from part 1 are shown during the questionnaire for players of part 1.
With Ren'Py's multi persistent save data feature it's possible to port data from one game to another:

A small update to THS Part 1 would be necessary to create the multi part save at the end of the game.
At the start of THS part 2 the game checks if a multi persistent file is present and loads the choices.

Example:
When asking "Is Mila pregnant? -> YES/NO" and the necessary data from part 1 exists you can show it to the player to help him with his choice:
"Mila is pregnant in your current playtrough. Keep it that way? -> YES/NO"

Players can explore missed paths from part 1 if they want or keep their previous choices. Or start fresh if no data was found.

We can't make any more updates to Part 1, but I think this will be a smaller problem than you think. It will just be a few question that will guide you on the right path based on what you remember happened in part 1.

Yeah, I know that there are not that many important decisions and there are no stat points for each character, so no big deal.
But why can't you make a new update to part 1?

If we could continue on part 1 then there would be no need to create a part 2. We don't have the files and assets continue the game. That's why we now make a part 2 with a new artist and new assets.

I'm not talking about a content update but a small patch that implements the save game port. If you don't have access to the code you need to decompile the game and implement it like modders would do.
And for part 2, make sure you always have access to the code (and art assets) to not have the same problems in the future again.

I couldn't get far with this one. Pile of slop not even an autoclicker can make a dent in. While VN's are hit/miss with me, this one is intolerable even from a horny standpoint. I only ever got one image of anything close to penetration and it was really lame. I guess I'm fine with small dev's using AI to get a concept across to an audience, but this game isn't worth making excuses for. Would not play this even if it was the last game on f95. 0/5.

A lot of us are here for the story more than for the porn.

I mean, the use of "text based" in the name ought to have clued you in that it probably wouldn't show you anything close to penetration. Or do you normally interpret "text" as "graphics" in your part of the world?

Just FFR — only trying to be helpful here, not critical — I would recommend always interpreting anything that says "text based" (in the title or otherwise) as primarily text. Even if images are included, they should generally be assumed to be few and far between. Hopefully that can help your expectations in the future. Tags on this site are meant to indicate something is present, not prevalent, so I wouldn't trust them to be a good indicator of how much content is in a creation nor how prevalent it might be.
