Sorry, but how do you overwrite / delete a save? I don't wish to user a new slot each time I save, as I save often in one spot if nothing changes / there are no choices, in case [something bad] happens...

Also, since I'm here, is this a harem? Can I go forth and pursue anything without risk? Or do I have to pick a favourite?

Clicking on the name of the save overwrites it immediately.

Transitions between scenes take an incredibly long time (such as after Steph tells the MC to put on some pants and when the MC arrives at the table). In every Renpy game I play the scene changes are instant (yes, I know this isn't Renpy, just saying). I'm running high-end hardware with up-to-date drivers and Java and there's simply no good reason for such delays. Game is also running from an SSD, so even if the game has to load something more from disk it should be near-instant. Has to be an engine/coding problem.

I think I read somewhere earlier about loading index.html directly into Firefox (and maybe Edge, but not Chrome), rather than running the .exe - I'm doing that and having no issues... Well, it's not butter-smooth, but not slow. GTX 1070TI, 8600K @ 4.7, 16GB

Maybe.

My system specs are the same as yours. Even running the HTML (in FF Quantum) has the same slow transitions. As I said, it must be an issue with the engine he's using or the coding.

EDIT: And the deeper I get into the game the longer and longer the scene transitions take. It's acting like on every scene transition it has to parse some very large file starting from the top until it finds what it's looking for, deeper and deeper so the parsing takes longer and longer.

It's quite bad form to have the Load/Save dialogue freeze :( Hadn't saved in ages as it was all talk and no choices *Sob*

Edit: Fuggit - Save screen just froze again saving in the same slot. Saving in a different slot next time!

Edit2: Nope - apparently it doesn't like saving anymore. Please someone, port this to Ren'py!
(If it's important, I have 11 saves, and it just hangs when I click to save now - no way I can progress further knowing I cannot save anymore)

Honestly, for me, the characters sliding off the screen ... micro-stutter? ... but transitions etc are fine. I will note that my main OS (therefore Firefox) is on an NVMe drive. I can't see this making a difference, but ... maybe?

Apart from my comment* one or two above, this is acting like a Ren'py game for me.

Edit: Went back to check I wasn't going insane, and the transitions take under a second (where it says 'Now loading')

*My comment is quite serious now

My OS (Windows 10 Pro), and the game, is on a M.2 NVMe. It's not a hardware issue. I have 146 porn games (so far) from F95 (made using Renpy, Unity, Unreal, RPGM, HTML, you name it) and this is the only one that loads and transitions slow.

When using the HTML you get "Now loading", so at least you know the game is doing something. But when running the exe, on a transition to a new scene the game window goes completely black (the UI vanishes) and stays that way for many seconds (now close to a minute) before something finally gets displayed again. First time this happened I thought the game had locked up. But, no, it just goes out to lunch (a completely blank black window, no icons or text, nothing) for an extended period, with no indication that it's doing anything, until eventually it deigns to display the next scene and the UI gets restored. That's a coding/engine issue. I don't think that any of the other games that I play use the engine that this game is using, so I can't compare and say for certain whether it's the coding or inherent with the engine or a combination of both.

From what you're saying, maybe my game isn't 'hanging' on the save screen, but going 'out to lunch'... Maybe I should wait a few more minutes / hours to see if the save interface comes back to life...?

My game saves almost instantly (a second or less). Loading a save is a lot like a scene transition though: a black window for an extended period of time.

I think I envy your position - better to have slow transitions and be able to save than instant transitions and be unable to save...
