They've said (and I hope it's true) they'll be carefully reviewing and cleaning up the dialogue, and I hope it's true--that just isn't one of the strong points of the game. Not that it's bad, as such, but there are plenty of grammatical errors, and a good bit of inconsistency between (and even within) story events. I think I recall seeing that there'll be some re-rendering, but I'm not certain about that.
Can't speak to the replay question.
I'll add that, based on the dev logs over the last 8+ months, there will be some new content in the middle of TID and significant new content in the final third of TID (there may actually be new render and animation numbers in several of the dev logs but I don't have time to go back and look right now).
Changing the story from 'winning and getting to spend the new life' with one of the ladies to 'winning and getting to spend the new life' with a harem of ladies (no specifics on what variations we can choose - like different throuples or just a full blown harem less a lady or two that did not make the selection cut you decide on for the harem).
While I am hoping that the DC lands between late Nov and Christmas - that is my wishful thinking at work versus any date range provided by the dev.

TID v0.99 Directors Cut with the revamped third act and an optional Harem ending is indeed expected by fall ‘25. Think of it maybe as a Christmas present.
As of now there is already a completed beta with most if not all content done being internally tested. They are now reviewing the updated script (it’s a LOT of work, more than 140k words), doing some rewrites and reshoots of older content animations. This was explained on a devlog not long ago. I believe it was copied here somewhere a couple of pages back.
So the release is not yet imminent, but it seems to be on track for later this same year/early beginning of ‘26 at worst. Depends on how the testing goes ofc, but it looks good so far.
Changes are substantial, so im pretty sure old saves won’t be compatible and a new game from start will be required.

For similar art style, the obvious place to look would be this creator's other games: Now & Then (which is completed) and TOXICity (in progress), both linked in the OP. They're both similar in dealing with TEOTWAWKI (though each in a different way than TID), but otherwise quite different in structure.

For pure raw numbers, the chart here is what we're looking at for new content. Outside of some script clean-up and code for the integration of the new ending, most of the main game was left untouched. Most of your saves should still work. Unlike N&T: DC, this isn't an entire redo of the code that adds a bunch of new scenes to the main story. The main game remains the same. This final build features the Hard Mode and "Everyone" ending that people have been asking for.

And if you're missing Kara, you didn't do her send-off right, which means you missed out--it was surprisingly among the most emotionally difficult for me, on account of its being among the most touching.

I just realized I didn't do her quest line correctly. But at that time, I was already very satisfied with her questline so I didn't think to reload a save.
If I focus on fully completing a few stories at a time will I still be able to get the scenes between girls as long as I don't finish their stories gathering their qi? I was also wondering if I need qi for anything besides getting the good ending. I only have 8 on day 83 because I've been doing all the stories at once.
Probably not, unless you're careful to advance the right ones together. Check the walkthrough to be sure, but I think that'd be Anita/Marisa, Tina/Robin, and Sammy/Roe, and keep up with Kara along with Anita/Marisa once Kara's introduced.
Yes, but you'll get a bit more of it as things progress. 8 on day 83 seems a little low (have you sent Mina on yet?), but there are a few other ways you get it.
The current rev is not optimized for a player to enjoy 2-3 women at a time (going until all their content is exhausted).
I've found that if you play each of the women and keep them at about the same level, you are unlikely to miss much content.
If you have some concerns about that, the WT is very helpful.

And after a very long wait, here we are with the release calendar for The Interim Domain 0.99.0. This is our final content release for the title. A 1.00.0 patch will be coming some time next year with any code or typo fixes brought up by users.
0.99.0 has some minor cleanup, both script and code, but the main story remains mostly untouched. The two new additions for this release go hand-in-hand: Hard Mode and the new Everyone ending. To unlock the Everyone ending, you have to start a new game in Hard Mode and complete it. There are a few extra things you have to do as well as finish with 600 Qi. Once unlocked, you'll get a bonus ending, which, based on the word and image count, runs about the length of 3-4 updates. In fact, it's almost longer than the main story is (minus all the side stories).
Let me be up front and clear about the Everyone ending: There's some hand-waving and fan service to it. A lot, even. It's meant as a gift to everyone wanting to have them all, even if the main story was built around the idea of Michael having to say goodbye to so many in an effort to set them free.
I will say that I'm sad to see this project come to an end, but this is as good a send off as possible for a project that's been over three years of our lives. While TID wasn't as popular as other games, it did allow us to explore stories we'd wanted to tell with a larger variety of characters, some of which became unexpectedly a lot more fun to write than when we were in the planning phases. The sizable cast allowed us to tell a variety of life experiences, where we slipped in some more personal elements from people we knew. Sure, not everyone wants to read about an existential crisis about life, death, and coping with trauma and loss while looking at titties, but here we are.
This release marks the end of our time with Honey Select Studio, the software that we used to tell both TID and Now & Then. While the mod and content library for HS2 isn't the same, there's enough there to allow us to move onto newer experiences.
Like with Now & Then: Director's Cut, there will be two versions of the PC and Mac downloads: one compressed like the previous releases and an uncompressed version with all the assets as they are in our development builds. Compressed comes in at 4 GB. Unleaded is 12-13 GB.

Extremely competently made game. I'm not going to give it a 5 but I really strongly think it should be higher rated than pretty much every other completed game on the site. The average ranking is too low!
The game is very complete in a way that few other games are, looks great, plays great. Overall enjoyable side girls and I really liked the main story. The plot is just strong enough and engaging enough to both work, get me horny, invested in the early mysteries, feel things, without overstaying its welcome and interfering with the mechanics of the game.
I have 3 major quibbles.
The most important one is the character writing. It's better than most eroges, but it's still not good. By my standards it's rather poor. Most characters sound the same, think the same, act the same despite their diversity in backgrounds. Yes they have different traumas, and some are inhuman, yet they act and speak incredibly similarly. It's weak.
Secondly is the "choice" design of the game, maybe it's hard to fault the game designer but I played with a mod that helps you get all the content, and the mod warns that to get all the content you need to "progress all characters evenly". This makes the beginning very repetitive as you're doing the same intro 10 times. Then the back end of the game has too much sex as you're fucking them all at the same time. This is a bad pacing issue. The game should be designed for and should push you into a more serial pattern.
And finally the whole interim concept is just a bit unappealing. It sounds like an excuse to turn you into a god, but that's not really what it is, the execution of the whole thing is mainly depressing and downbeat. It's just unappealing and kinda shitty.
Otherwise great game that should be top 5 but for some reason isn't (at time of writing it's like top 50).
