Because of situations like this I am glad that I decided for myself a long time ago to only play the finished product and not in updates.
I do believe that many peoples frustrations stem from playing the game update by update and are stuck with situations they are not comftable with like with the last 2 updates being arato ones. I thought the dev wanted to rewrite the introduction of arato a bit to adress these concerns but it seems he decided not to do it after all.

This can be a two edged sword because promising games gets abandoned but I have still my peace of mind. Y'all need to step a way back and wait for 2-3 updates.

Playing finished products in my own pace removes this to a great degree and I can just continue to see the conclusion of a bad situation. I dunno I might be talking out of my as as well xD

Lastly it is interesting as always to see that when people on F95 are up in arms of a certain thing and the patreons, like the dev mentioned, are super chill. Such a stark contrast and I am wondering why that is

If you played the Shadow of Desire update lately, you would understand that that recent update was terrible. No build up. No fleshing out. No pacing. Just a bunch of new characters added who no one cares about because they got no back story, jump to groping, ball sucking and ball hopping. It became messy. Almost as if nothing matters anymore. What was impactful in the last chapter just gone. There is no point in reading. Sure some people like this quick to sex so they can get to bust a nut quick, but for the reading, its just terrible pacing and not hot at all. Anyway this isn't about Shadow of Desire.

Here... Mary jumped on Arato nuts too quick. She has to build up with Kendo up to chapter 3 to start hoping his nuts. Her corruption took place and then by chapter 5 it full on love and commitment willing to do things for Kendo even if it means having sex with others. Where Arato comes in at chapter 3, its straight action and balls deep in with very little build up within 1 chapter? Bruh? Because of drug? Partner swinging? Sex frustration? Blackmail? Isn't she already kind of in love with Kendo? So she gonna cuck the guy who cuck the guy she cheated on? What? That is just I don't know? Terrible writing. No pace. No build up

It becomes like other NTR games I dislike. Now you got three partners, the MC, and the two antagonist while those two antagonist are also banging each others harems and the main. I am not fan of multiple different partners with no substances. Who do I pay attention to? Maybe once the main girl is corrupted. used and reach the peak of corruption then it makes sense for her to go around give herself up. I Just like build up and consistency. Otherwise what is the point in reading the story. I liked the the beginning to mid of King of Summers because it was grounded. But as new character came, just like SOD, things dragged out. Messy.

I've not played the latest Shadow Patch, so can't comment there.

As for Mary, I saw her hooking up with Arato as an extension of her corruption from Kendo. He had brought her to the point of wanting sex all the time, enjoying the taboo of it, and a bad actor took advantage of that.

The jump made sense to me. Arato was at the right time in the right place and had the balls to take what he wanted.

Have you even read what I wrote? I know he fucks off back into the background after you choose kendo. The problem that he has just huge amounts of forced content before you get to choose.

I mean, that's just called gameplay. I get wanting to focus on one character, but this is the story the Dev wanted to tell, and you really are way inflating how much Arato is in the game.

He is hardly in it at all in comparison to Kendo if you take Kendo's route.

If you want a porn gallery just ask for a save file with the sexy scenes saved, or better, find a way to DL the CG. Stories sometimes need story.

Actually I only followed Kings of Summers in early 2023. So most of the chapters were already fleshed out. But when it comes NTR games and dialogue, I often time invest in reading the story plot, character development, and build up. The frustration is not the characters themselves, but the actual pacing. This series is one of my favorite since it started off so grounded from chapter 1 to 3. Its was unique from a lot of other NTR games as the randomness and 0 to 100 is not so everywhere that you actually enjoy following along. Well at least I did. The introduction of this Arato can be anyone. A chad, shota, old fart or ugly mofo. I just don't care. Its was the way how it was shoe horn in there and just over take the plot that started to kill the enjoyment.

Anyways I am passionate about it because this series is one of the series that inspired me to journey into making my own game. DEV is a great artist regardless. Its just my criticism whether is matter or not. I am not asking DEV to change anything as it is his product. Beside, as Thanos once said, "fine I'll do it myself."

It just feels like the corruption to bang more than two partners has not taken peak yet by chapter 3. She only committed to Satoshi and Kendo. The switch is just too much of a stretch, and the build up is not smooth. She has no real reason to commit to Arato. She got blackmail by Arato if you make Kendo stay, she won't tell Kendo. She is only afraid if Satoshi finds out? So what is the best thing to do? Bang Arato anyways? Right got it. Has nothing to do with money. Going to jail. Threat of harm, killing or image being damage by society. Just oh I don't want Satoshi to find out.

There is also the issues with build up. The build up is only with the Satoshi as he encounters Shizuke a lot. Mary barely encounter with Arato aside from forcing to be there. This is all happening while she still banging Kendo. But if Kendo is force to leave by MC, bangs Arato anyways because drug, swinging, and Satoshi wants to bang the pink hair girl. This all happens right off the back. Would of make sense if Kendo and Arato have zero encounters with others and the branching route started from the beginning . Like Arato and kendo paths does not crosses each other and both have 1 to 5 chapters.

As Shadow of Desire, that is the number 1 game that really inspired me to create my own game. My series is in the very early stage. Still working on the plot, characters and overall premise. But I got a female model ready. Pray for me. Gonna be a long hobby and journey, with animations, background, more models and so on. Anyways SOD most recent update is a let down. You have to play all of the chapters though to get the disappointment.

In my opinion, only a cuckold fetishist can appreciate the endings with Arato. There are so many letters that you get tired of pressing Ctrl to pick out individual pieces, solid mantras about the value of an ordinary girl, as I read one woman's statement about another - "you act as if you don't have a hole, but a huge faceted diamond." Pulling an owl onto a globe only works on a fetishist who is currently inflamed. Although the game seems to be made for such people, success in commerce to the developer!

I know he's not in it much. I'm way past the point in the story where he's relevant. I'm not complaining, I'm giving feedback on what I believe was a clumsy implementation in terms of story flow. The dev himself admitted it was probably suboptimal. All I am doing is sharing my opinion in what way the implementation of arato into the game was suboptimal. Feedback helps people get better at what they do and my feedback was neither hostile nor toxic, so I don't get why you have such a problem with it.

No offence but I think we do get it now. The thing is I can't either agree nor disagree with you since I haven't played the game once so I am indifferent to the whole arato issue.

I will play the game when its finished and with it I have the full experience before me and can go into it with an open mind. Who knows maybe I will also think the arato inclusion was bad. Only time will tell but for now we can only wait.

I understand everything people don't like about Arato, I just don't understand wasn't it just a little bit content of him getting forced? Isn't it just until when the swinging ends and he can fuck right off?

Okay so here's my take of the game regarding both routes. To me, just because the game name king of summer the old-alpha-fucking-chad isn't automatically the main focus of the story, the main spotlight for me had always been Mary. Kendo being male cast #1 and Arato as #2, sorry Satoshi who? Kendo will and always will have more content than Arato as you have seeing him fucking every females with name already. Like I said, it's my opinion on the game, some people here are bashing with others when coming across with someone who has different opinions are killing my sanity.

My experience for both routes go like this. When the swinging ends I dive straight down to Kendo and Satoshi route because fuck Arato alright, don't like him one bit. I like every other story with Erina, especially Natsuki and her husband. It was until Hanako I found it to be stale and started skipping stuffs. It was half way through her corruption it started gets really boring for me, it wasn't Hanako did that for me it was Kendo. Then I started skipped till the end just to see some scenes because Kendo was getting really boring for me. All variations for the ending 1 with Kendo was good enough, it's everything I'm expecting anyway.
Then I was like "Oh right there was this motherfucker Arato" and went to check it out of curiosity. Didn't click for me at all until after the casino scene and after some of the bottle game scenes, it clicked to me. Not Kendo and Satoshi. This sadistic arrogant selfish prick with no respect for anyone and anything? This dude right here is Mary's perfect match!
