I won't lie, I legit got excited for a moment presuming the game was nearly complete. But then the blood flowed back from my dick to the brain and I realized that the dev probably meant "the update was nearly complete". I really need to stop doing this..

Really disappointing that we are getting 3 updates in a row, of a branch not making the bus. I am personally invested in the bus leaving branch.
I also think this much branching early on, isn't my favorite or good, long term, since it will create even more branching in the future. Making things even more complex.
Now we get to wait, what, 2-3 years to get back to Lexa, maybe get to the some actually family action if we are lucky, with it now being 3 updates of not making bus branch. I am patient, but still, no progression on that route is a problem.
The bus branch is not even that long, so we get shafted on content, and this path will get considerably more content and longer than the home trip path, while also waiting a long time for more.
Just very disappointed and let down, I was so excited for this game, now, idk.

Everything I like about the game is literally on the bus... what's left at home? The old hotel maid woman??edit- just read his post, then why not have the bus (which he already owns) drive around for a few days?
national park HDRIs are pretty cheap after all, a few park benches and you're good to go!

Hmm... while I'm not really taking sides here, I think I understand the dev's intentions.
When I played the game, I went into each choice in great detail to explore different branchings. But, my original pick during the maid scenario was to actually chat her up. I didn't want to be a dick to her for no reason, and neither was I hot about the idea to to be a Casanova who fvks everything that moves. I was also interested in collecting information for all characters so, I went the "good guy, who romances first" route which panned out pretty nicely with her. However the ending sequence of that scene felt odd to me.
After a good chat and she turning me down for a good time, she instead offers me a spot to crash in case there was no other bus till tomorrow. But that doesn't really happen as your bro makes extra sure you catch the bus no matter what. Either way, I just dismissed it off as something that was just an offer and not a commitment. And since she already gave her address, I presumed the MC can come back later to visit anyway.
But if the dev wants to flesh that branch out first, I believe we should let him cook. Don't get me wrong, I do agree, too many branches already is just going to overwhelm his workload, but I think he knows that better than anyone. It is his rodeo after all. All we can do is wait and there is no point getting anxious while doing so.

yeah this game have a scope problem. either this game won't be finished 6-7 years from now yet, but it will be great, or it will be abandoned.
problem is dev been cooking since october 2023, it's now june 2025 and the game hasn't even leave prologue yet

To be fair, and that is if this is accurate, he is one guy, with limited monetary support, one PC and working on a game with tons of branches. Not that I am defending waiting a decade for a game to finish but I have seen games far older offering far less. To be fair I have also seen games as young as this that offer far more as well.
In short, I understand your frustration and I share on it to a certain extent. But if the above is accurate, I'm fairly sure even dev has now started to feel the pressure of time. Hence his stress upon "pace will pick up soon". Lets see if that happens or...

1,000 Renders in half a year is simply bullshit.
He lives in Australia...... so summer is really hot and his house almost burned down. But i know, its all devs fault and anything they make is never enough. Plus this is just his passion project and like everyone without sufficient support he needs to do normal work to live.

As an Aussie myself the lightning issue is 100% bullshit though- QLD the state with the most lightning strikes is only bad for a couple of months and nothing that a surge protector which one can buy for less than $100 which, if he lives in a lightning prone area would already be fitted otherwise they would be buying new tv and fridge every storm
His house almost burning down has nothing to do with lightning storm. Do you know how hot computer get in a small room while rendering scenes in summer? The dev said the computer would occasionally get too hot and shutdown while rendering.

Bro, reading through this devlog is making me realise that this dev is kinda insane, don’t get me wrong, I kinda respect the ambition. But my god, this game is never gonna be finished
Look at the amount of branching the dude is already planning on + a pregnancy chance mechanic, that’s going to add even more branching and shit + characters potentially dying in branches + having like 20 positions in every sex-scene + once again, the insane amount of branching… it’s wild.
I wish him all the best, but honestly man. I think we have another Summers Gone situation here, being that maybe my Grandkids will be able to see the finished product…
