Not at all, it was just my sad prediction of the road this game will take. It's a well traveled road that starts smooth and fast, but ends in a dirt track and a bullet riddled billboard that reads "MEH"
its kinda funny theres another game, thats also this way, apocalypse style settings.
it has a plot line where you go route A which is with the main LI, thats like childhood best friend, meet some people, do some events different from other route, but it happens to merge with the other route (kinda)
then it has route B which is like the "class" side of things, which is the same, you do some events different from other route, which again merges kinda.
A lot of predictions are similar for both games because when you set up a multi-route system where you go down road A and road B, the amount of time, dedication, development becomes a much larger scale project. Doing a mostly linear, with choices project can be accomplished with a single dev, or a 2-3 ppl working together to speed it up. Also judging from the options to go on Route B, there seems to be a possible Route C and D coming up "shortly" too since they're version tagged.
When you split routes this heavily, even if you have years of writing in the works, already drawn up, the amount of time, renders, shaping, choices, 30 LI's etc just tend to be come like a 5+ person project. It's ambitious to say the least. I've started getting in the habit of checking forum release dates a lot lately because it tends to tell alot lol. While I admit, this game has a lot of high quality stuff going on, the ambitiousness and workload is probably going to push it into a decade mark and honestly if you cant produce updates at a sufficient speed, its not very appealing for people to support the work.
Sucks because there is something good brewing here, but being hard cut for an alternative path rather than just going down the main route, then opening up the alternative paths, really just slams the brakes and flips it into a ditch. It's definitely more digestible to go through the main story, before going down the alternate pathways. I would probably like the military side more because its more my speed but at the same time, I would have much rather continued where I left off before being introduced to it, because now every update is gonna center around which path you prefer and which is actually being worked on, especially as even more open.
