Am I retarded or is the second level hard af? I guess both can be true lol
Are you playing the newest demo version that was uploaded today? I reduced the difficulty, but it could still be overtuned. Let me know! And let me know what was hard (not enough turns, enemy damage, etc.), and I can take a look.

Always cool to see a Fire Emblem-style game!

Can't speak for the other guy, but I found the second level hard because it requires pretty tight timing on the player's part. Past a certain point the protagonist's sister has a decent chance of taking 4 damage for every turn the player takes (attacked on the enemy turn, kills enemy but takes 2, attacks on her turn, kills but takes 2). So taking just a turn or two to heal or position characters can mean you run out of time before she's killed. And there's a good bit of luck involved that the player just can't impact, when it comes to whether the enemies she's fighting miss any of their attacks. If they don't you're going to be very squeezed for time.

Side note, I noticed a number of points where the narration referred to the MC as the default name instead of what I picked for him.

Played the latest update and a few things that stuck out. Is there no way to fullscreen? Why do animations switch to widescreen (black bars on the top and bottom), but still frames aren't? It's a bit jarring swapping between the two out of nowhere. What even is convoy? The scene where the prince just got done with giselle, he doesn't have his dick out, but they comment on it, so maybe add it so it lines up with the dialogue. Also, the prince needs pajamas, or a casual type of outfit. Seeing him lying in bed with his armor on was kind of funny.

The ai pics didn't bother me, but some people see ai and lose their shit for some reason. As long as it's consistent art it works. I can see the appeal of HS though, since the animations look good and it's voiced too. Either way doesn't bother me much.

Now for the combat changes. I did see the explanation of the triangle combat system, not sure if it was in the first release, that was nice. The changes to Olivia were noticeable, still the second mission is tough. I managed it with her at just 6 health left. The mages in that mission still hit like trucks. I took them down with Beatrix and her tempest skill, which was pretty effective. I did like the extra gear, since I managed to break a few weapons.

I do like the changes, but I think a new player will probably try to rush it and get their shit kicked in and then complain about it.

That might be a bug with the actual software or the plugin... But I'll double check the text to make sure. If you know the scenes, that'll help, but I'll look through either way.

Yeah, the purpose was for it to give the feel of a tight timing, but I think it might be too tight at the current moment. I'll increase player unit RES. I think reviewing the numbers, it's too low for Amelia and Edel.

What I'm currently working on is a adding a setting to allow you to select hard (in between hard and maddening) mode or normal mode. Which is a little complicated in this software. However, I'll fast track the normal mode and try to post an update in the next few days.

Adoringfan, how'd the third map feel if you got there?

Yeah, in this program you have to press F4 for full screen. Good call out though: I'll add a note at the very beginning regarding this.

I'm currently talking with artists who are interested in working with me on the project. All the art is supposed to be a placeholder until I can work with an artist on the non-demo release. That being said, I'll try to fix what I can from your comments in the meantime.

Really appreciate the feedback y'all!!

Third map was a breeze compared to the second one. There were a lot of axe users, so it put two of the party at a disadvantage, but the terrain changes made up for that. I just stuck the lancers in the trees and it made picking off the advancing bandits easy. One thing I was thinking might help in the second map is having access to an axe. The prince could maybe confiscate the bandit leader's axe after their first encounter, that could help handling the spear users. He's at a pretty big disadvantage that whole mission, with his weapon type (no axe users to fight) and being slower than the lancer girls.

I want to say it was from the narration (as opposed to dialogue) during a couple of the cutscenes. But I'm not entirely sure of that without playing through again

When I went back through that section earlier it looked like the first few waves of reinforcements only do 1 damage to her, and then enemies start coming that can do 2. I think if there were another turn or two before the stronger enemies start coming, that might be enough to give the player just a little more slack- the difference between her being on 5 health vs. 9 health when you get your units to the last couple enemies, for example.

Yep! You were right. Great eye. Fixed 4 mistakes.

Updated (a little differently) but it should adjust the timing by a few more turns now.

I like this a lot!! Giving him more weapons also makes sense for some of his possible promotions. I added Iron Axe drop to Chapter 1.
Oh I forgot to respond but Convoy lets the player access the overall "storage" which will be relevant more once you get more items and the shop opens up.

I just released the Version 3 of the Demo:

This is going to need some serious balancing and tuning. The spawn rate in the second mission is overtuned. Olivia has 28hp, she usually gets hit every single fight, so you have somewhere between 14-28 rounds to finish the stage, that isn't a lot. Meanwhile, you control team baby that is weak af and can't take more than 3 hits without dying, aside from Beatrix, but she gets wrecked by magic. It's not looking good, when every single enemy takes 2 rounds on average to kill and there are 14 of them, with reinforcements from the throne room.

Next the weapons degrade per hit. There are also weapon abilities that take 3-5 durability per use and there is no way to repair that I've seen so far. I haven't seen past the second mission, so I have no clue if a store even exists to buy better gear, or repair. Also, random stat gains when you level can really screw you over. At the very least some stats should be guaranteed for each character based on their class/role, so you don't get screwed by bad rng. Like the priestess should get magic every level up so her heals get better and the prince should get strength, or hp on level up and then give them a chance to get other stats.

Another thing I noticed is do weapon types mean anything? Is it like fire emblem, where certain weapon types are supposed to go against others, or if you use the wrong type it will put you at a disadvantage? If yes, it should be in some sort of tutorial. I like the ideas and it seems pretty interesting, just needs some adjustments so people don't get their shit kicked in on the first stage after the prologue.
Game is really unbalanced and incredibly difficult. I don't know why DEVs feel like in a H-game to make the game so difficult. On 2nd mission you are literally blown away by all the magic casters that does insane amounts of damage. There is literally no gear for magic protection, or any way to upgrade your gear, gold, etc like a RPG. insane I literally just quit

Thank you for giving it a shot. I'm still working on tuning the difficulties, and I'm working on version of the demo that will involve a normal and hard mode.
That being said, have you tried the latest version of the demo v3 that I released yesterday? It features an increase in Amelia and Edel's RES which should help reduce the damage from the magic casters. I don't think it's updated on here yet. The

I want to list the positives in the 30minutes I tried the game. Artwork and concept - is very good. Reminds me of the shining force games I played back in the days. It was what caught my interest. The girls and characters are pretty.

The negatives - besides what I already listed. I recall prior to 2nd mission there was a healer character. I didn't see her join me in the 2nd battle a healer would definitely helped since I notice even when you level up or back at the town your hp doesn't recover nor is there a inn you can stay to recoup your characters. Could use more turns for your characters in combat to make it less monotonous (sp) You literally force players to go into the 2nd mission unhealed and unprepared. I am interested in the game but will see if there's more QOL in the near future. For those players who aren't looking for a quick fap and don't mind a challenging game this is for you.

That's weird that you missed the priestess girl. You either didn't go to the red house with a unit to collect her, which the tutorial tells you to take advantage of visiting all the red buildings for free loot/story stuff, or you removed her by hiding her during the setup phase before starting the mission. No wonder you had a bad time.
