Warning: This game is pretty awesome, but despite "completed" tag, it has a ton of bugs (including game breaking ones), and depending on your background, the plot ranges from lengthy to completely half-assed.
Still a good game, but nowhere as good as TLS

The dev is a fan of TLS, was directly inspired by TLS, and has made the closest thing I've ever played to a spiritual successor. There's some differences of course, but if you're looking for a new game in the same vein, this is the best you'll find.
While it definitely has a way to go, there is at least 36 hours of content already, so it's not like there's nothing to enjoy. I can understand wanting to wait, but I encourage people to try it anyway, because what's there already is just that good.

TLS is one and only.
This being said...
Noblesse Oblige like already suggested. Inspired by TLS it's probably the closest to TLS as possible.
Harem Collector and Ker's Harem (Remastered) meet your requirement ("party with female companions"). Both are made with the same prehistoric RPG Maker program as TLS so you can even have the similar vibe when playing. Both are pretty unique in their own way. HC is more light-minded and even has some resource management system. Ker's Harem in somewhat darker and more adventure-oriented.
I was looking at the pastebin of the final battle on the game's forum, a lot of people can die depending on bad past decisions and country scores only 2 characters don't apply to this. I think that's what the final potion is important for, you can use it for save one from an inevitable death or lessen one's blood from a bloody final battle because of bad decisions

OK, I finished Chapter 1! So far, it's a great game indeed! I am no artist myself, but I must say that the art style is great. Great writing and plot (shout out to the start, with the first chosen one's death: 'But this isn't about you.' Wasn't expecting that one, btw). That's a truly good game, not more of the same like 90% of the RPGM games on this site. Please do continue the great work updating the thread! Toodles!

In addition to what others have recommended, I'll throw in Renryuu Ascension as well. Closer than Harem Collector though not nearly as close as Noblesse Oblige.

I got interested in 1 thing about this game's playerbase. When playing TLS I've gotten to the point of shedding a tear multiple times. Have you?

Shedding tears? Not really in my case, but there have been times I've had to close the game and take a walk to have a good long think about things for a bit.
I'm not updated my version of TLS on joi play, but that version worked and that version around year old. also i unpacked all resourses from game. without unpacking joiplay shows some images wrong.

to be installed. If you don't know what that means, use the RTP link.Gotta ask, final fight against the wheel. Anyone got any idea how to go against it? The stacking % of stats just makes anything after second turn impossible as it dumps a 12k nuke and instakills a party member.
im stuck on the final destiny fight too because it keeps healing itself back to full when I bring it down to like 1/3 HP, it happened twice before I got wiped
