Will the story mode version be updated to the latest version? I am asking as the combat feels unbalanced as hell. We cant grind levels to help buy pass how difficulty they are. We do not get enough money to buy enough recovery items and progress the town stuff at the same time. If we are spending all our money on recovery we get soft locked from progressing the story of the game. The story mode mode is the only way I managed to get past mid game and save his wife. But it is not up to date with the latest version of the game so I can see the rest of the game now.

If you're spamming recovery items you aren't forming your parties properly. You should rarely ever actually need to use them without making massive blunders.

No seems like its a bug on the website. The developer is aware of the issue a few updates his busy implementing. No ETA Currently. Other patreon pages are still working but a few aren't.
The game has no way to level up efficiently and the combat is hard to figure out for some one like me. The fact that enemies do not respawn and the difficulty of each combat to be bad balance and not fun. I how ever do enjoy the story just not this bogus balance in combat.
First, you know that you could heal in the skills menu, right? So you shouldn't waste your health potion (or use any at all), since healing is so low mana it's practically free (maybe you could some mana potion, but that's optional). Resting is a very good alternative too (although, I don't know if the point your in have a resting place or not)
Second, don't be stuck with your original formation. At your point of the game, you should already have enough party members to switch around. Every enemy has their own weakness that can be exploited by your teammates, and it's your job to find it through trial and error (sorry not sorry).

you know the ability of mindless grind levels for overleveling any challenge and win every battle with attack spam is the opposite of balance?
Story mode was not made by Sierra so it's not going to be updated at any point... unless person who originally made it decides to update it (which is unlikely at this point).
As for combat... it is very much balanced because there is no grind! You do need to change the party in order to exploit monster weaknesses (or bypass their strengths) and you should use skills to heal out of combat. Or go to rest which fills out both Health and Mana.

They're the same thing in this case.
The file is a compressed archive, that's contained in a self-extracting file. Double-click it, and it extracts the folder.
Before going any further, did you download it onto a PC, or Android device?
I deliberately didn't respond to that part of your post for a reason, and only addressed your query about the .exe file that's in the download links.
