guys i placed 5 incubus king items on the altars at forgotten temple but boss battle isn't starting instead its giving me sword directly and death character is also missing ?
Yah cheated.
Another thing. In order to unlock the last harem member, Sierra put in various anti-cheat functions otherwise you only get the victory sword. I got the sword from the coffin, does that mean I miss the last person cause I cheated in my saves?

If you have a save from before you first went to the Forgotten Island, you can re-cheat to make sure the following isn't true

When you arrive at the Forgotten Island, the game checks every topic on the following list. If the program detects any foul play, it prevents the player from getting the last harem member:
  • 300,000 Sx or more.
  • 10,000,000 PRON or more.
  • Simon level> 110 (the maximum legit level should be around 105/106).
  • 52 or more SS.
  • Super Sword in the inventory.

I'd like to get the game on steam, since I like to collect achievements, but the game is not available in my country. Is there a workaround for this? Can I buy a key somewhere?

The game is free on steam, so unfortunately, no.

He would need to make a new steam account, as changing the region of your account is not longer as simple as just using a vpn.

Does anyone know if there are plans for future DLCs? Sorry, I haven't kept up to date with the development of this game for the last few years.

I'm doing a home brew ng+ where I added 1000 hp/mp to everyone and early on an extra 200000 ProN because I found it hard to pick up just the post game, it felt a bit too disconnected from how long ago I finished the epilogue. This means I can spam most character's stronger skills and heal less early on (where I felt the game was really tedious before you had the members to swap in/out as needed) and even though that amount of extra at the end game would be negligible it will have compounding effects for someone willing to research the investments. About halfway through chapter 4 now and I'm starting to see less value from the extra hp/mp as planned and am having a blast with the bits of the story I've always loved.

Ok... I'm at a point where I agree with a review, complaining about the secrecy of some things.
I don't mind hidden stat changes and that choices in chapter 1 influence later chapters in unexpected ways.
It's all fine and good and offers some replay value.

But what I absolutely hate is when the game offers me 2 doors, without any explanation why I should choose one over the other... or why I should choose at all.
'Meditate' or 'Exercise'?
Yeah... don't know... care to explain, game, why I should care?
How about an inner monologue?

It's a rare case where I peeked into the walkthrough, just highlighting these keywords... and yeah, it's about gaining physically abilities or mental abilities sooner... and I still don't know what it means.
Again, some secrecy is good and fine, but now the game is a child, holding both hands behind its back and let me choose 'Left or Right?'.

Still damn fine game tho, I just wish the choice-gambling would be less obvious.

EDIT: And after figuring it out, I must say, this whole place is a nightmare, especially when you don't like these time mechanics in 'Persona' and early 'Atelier' games.

Its fine to dislike them. But perhaps this game isnt for you then.
There are plethora of people who do enjoy it.

Right, the game I sunk many hours in while enjoying nearly everything about it, isn't for me.
The one I'm excited to play after waking up.
Never said it isn't for me, it still is a solid 10/10.

Please... don't come up with these copy-paste fanboy answers, they are exhausting after a while, no matter the game.
And I haven't even trashed it... just voiced my frustration about the section and the overall secrecy of some stuff.
Like, many things do have a hidden counter even if it doesn't look like it.

I hope you know that without some negative feedback, the game wouldn't be what it is right now...

"Let's see what will come out of it." are the words from someone mixing a shake out of random ingredients.
Don't forget the part where you learn gamedesign, where you either hire an artist or make your own art, same goes for the music.
Or learn scripting, when you wanna create an RPG-Maker-Game that has more features than 'Final Fantasy I'.

One of the most important aspects is to play games which are bad, so you know what not to do.
Come up with an idea, a script... a damn gamedesign book around your game, before you think about working on the game itself.

But sure, let's see what you come up with.
I can't wait for the RPGM list on Steam to get longer, just for the sake of it.

Hahah yeah, this part was hell for me, it was so many choices that I decided to don't think about a choice for more than 5 secs and just do it, if appealing for me. And let me tell you, if you see the hidden variables that this place has.... it's certainly impossible to be optimized in your first playthrough IMO.

I agree, for me it is like a bad way to encourage to replay the game, you have to consult an external source other than the game in order to reach the optimal outcome. For me, the whole action + reaction = consequence should be based in common sense and real problem solving situations, not mental gymnastics. However, i dont have problems with execptional situations where the consequences are totaly unpredictible and some butterfly effects here and there if the justification for it make sense later on.

Yeah, especially this place has so many traps (in terms of what not to do).
One thing I got a glimpse off is that there is a certain value for a char where I didn't even think that could be the case.
It's the only reason why I would have done helping with the crates, which gives you basically no money at all and seems like a waste of time.
But apparently, training your ally isn't the only thing you have to do.

Sometimes, I wish that at least some things have a visible value.
Or at the very end, post it at the endpoint, when you get evaluated.
Cause getting told that I did good doesn't tell me if I could have done something better.
And without numbers to check constantly, or a guide (which I still try to avoid), it's impossible to know if you could even optimize some stuff to begin with.

And oh boy, this place and running around, where chars tend to pop up here and there, and you better talk to them.
Basically, you should run around the entire castle from top to bottom after every single activity, just in case an NPC popped up or a glimmer at the training grounds.
