Very few protagonists are empty shells. Just about all of them have specific personalities, usually have histories and wants; these are all written as a complete character.

It's just most authors know people like to name their MC and take the extra couple minutes to make it possible to do so. People like you can always keep the default name, people like me can rename we both get to enjoy the game. All his choice did is make it so I won't support him financially (and yes I do support them usually, giving more if I really like their games, but I've probably given at least a few dollars to over 50 game creators at this point.). Devs probably lose nothing more than a little time by making their characters renamable but they do lose people when they don't - case in point - me and this game.
You missed the point of the game

in terms of joking around with a name, I'm infuriated because there isn't a single 'Simon says...!' joke in the entire game.
Woah, wait! Correct me if I'm wrong, but either Qum or Yarra did use that joke.
Or is it from another game with similar character? Maybe too much investing in this game will result seeing similar character in another game.......

I need to rest a bit, the update is too much :ROFLMAO:
Guess I'll dive into someone convo regarding this update.

Well, I'm a few days into Chapter 4, so either I haven't gotten to this joke yet or it flew by me. ^^"

Here is another thing I would like to know:

What makes Aka in combat smile?
The battle busts, I mean.
In the patreon pack, the busts where she doesn't smile are called 'nervous', and the variation where she smiles are called 'cool'.
But, what was the breaking point for it?

Can I grind my way to victory? Like Overlevel cause would the game think I'm cheating or does it have a mechanic that detects that. ?_?

You can't grind.
Dead enemies stay dead (no random encounters, 99% of all enemies are visible on the field).

Yes, the game has anti-cheat systems in place, in case you are overleveled.
Which simply means, reaching a level you simply couldn't have reached naturally at that part of the game.

But you can use an editor and edit stats, without affecting the level, as the game doesn't care about how high your ATK or DEF is.
That being said, the game detects if you won an unwinnable fight, which gets punished.
And the game detects if you defeat some specific enemies too fast.

Read with caution, as it is kinda spoilery.

It is encouraged to defeat every enemy, as experience and money are finite.
Don't worry too much about "defeating some enemies at a later time".
Some people make a big deal out of the fact that chars miss out on experience if you defeat enemies without getting the chars first.
It doesn't matter much, don't sweat it.

Also, everyone in your party gets the experience, not just active members.

Thanks for the info. Kinda gotten a meh now since I personally like overleveling before going to the next quest. Or being overprepared for a situation. Its how I gotten by Xcom.

I am the type of guy to enter the 2nd main quest in a game with all possible obtainable characters in the game max levelled...

That being said, this game does not really require you to min/max at latter stages, but expects you to have a decent team, and at least decent gear for non-main team.

So as long as you utilize enemy weaknesses and your buffs/resistances, don't shit your pants once you see 99 Health elixirs get reduced to 98, you'll be fine.

While I share the sentiment somewhat, this game here isn't that hard or punishing.
In games like 'Xcom', you wanna squeeze out as much of your party as possible.
But 'The Last Sovereign' doesn't really work that way.
As it's being said, a propper party composition and knowing what you are doing is far more important.

Or in other words:
If you struggle with an enemy because of a not-so-good strategy, you would still struggle, even if you grinded 5 levels for each char.
If you have a char with 2000 HP and an enemy does 1900 DMG, a few levels more would result in 2150 HP and 1800 DMG taken.

But again, I know how you feel.
I wouldn't lay a finger on some 'Fire Emblem' games if they miss the option to grind, since I'm terrible at these games.
But 'TLS' is nothing compared to that, it's a pretty chill game with alot of viable options.
The only hard parts are optional areas for bonus items and some bosses.

"Chill game" :KEK:

So many options, your brain will explode, then you won't even know where you fucked up or why a certain empress is mad at you :HideThePain:

Well, I was simply talking about the combat. ^^

But hey, the rest also is pretty chill if you don't stress yourself out over some options.

Ah yes, turn your brain off and enjoy the story :)
Then be curious why everybody dies, you're losing wars and everybody thinks you're a jerk

But it adds to the replay value.
But yes, the most difficult parts are everything other than combat.
Some sections can be mean, some decisions screw with you... and then there is 'running away from the spider'.
Like wtf, I still can't believe it.

I get that, trust me, as someone who plays a good amount of RTS and RPG games, knowing your team setup is crucial. Balancing on who will attack, tank, defend, heal, buff, and debuff is essential. Somewhat like when I play Star Ocean. Where the comp of my team mattered with dealing with challengin enemies.

I understand that this is an adult game and all I'm just giving it proper attention personally. Knowing who to use and which skills to use is crucial for any RPG. Knowing when to apply them is next. That's why I always go with the moto never make it a fair fight if you can help it. And glad someone mentioned Fire Emblem one of my fav character game the other being Valkire chronicles
