Nah, I don't think so. A lot of it is pretty fair criticism coming from those respective users. It's their opinion after all, but they do explain why they rated the way they did. The game is interesting with a lot of good world building, but it also has a lot of issues, bugs, and is pretty grindy. Players can unintentionally gate themselves off from content as well.Is this game getting review bombed?
A lot of scenes requires a ton of corruption -- often in the hundreds. Just see the 200+, 250+ corruption requirements from what you quoted from earlier for example. You'll still be able to see certain scenes with lower corruption but be careful you can accidentally gate yourself from other scenes if you didn't acquire enough corruption before encountering certain characters as you play. In addition, there are also several scenes that are missable if a player acquired too much corruption as they play. That's got to be maddening to some players surely. There's a lot of grinding of stats, but by cheating or by using shop items some of that grind will be alleviated.Do we need to cheat the corruption to do anything in the game? I have 30 corruption at the moment, and Fidelity at 89. The Gleam of the Outcasts quest doesn't progress, and it's been the only quest I've had available to me for a few updates now. If you stay in the inn above Reginald's tavern, there's a night event in the hallway for the husband. Watching that will send you both back to your home bed instead of the inn bed upon completion.
Regarding the tavern, yup, that happens as that's the entirety of that scene sequence that's currently in the game (well, as of v3.1.3B when I last checked). If you're seeing that then you've seen everything that chain of events has to offer right now, but you can sort of use it as a way to zip back to home from the slums I suppose.
