Sounds like you wanted to make 2 different games and couldn't decide.
Perhaps if you split it up and made it as 2 different stories in same universe it might reduce some of the coding and also keep supporters from being disappointed in future.
For example:
1 - If you produce an even split of resources, both vanilla and fetish will complain about small update.
2 - If you focus one then other will complain about being ignored.
Not to mention bloat of stats and variables for each side being tracked which have no meaning in other path.
