Exactly one year ago today, I published the prologue to “The Missing Part.” On itch and other platforms, the date is listed as October 16, 2024, but I consider the day my Patreon page and the post there were published as the starting point for the game.
In these 12 months, the game has grown and progressed further than I had imagined. The response has also been different than expected, in a positive way. I was aware from the outset that if I released a game aimed exclusively at my preferences, it might be received with limited enthusiasm by the public. However, this has also had the positive side effect of filtering out those who prefer a different type of AVN, meaning that I have almost exclusively been in contact with people who think similarly to me. Which is exactly how I want it. For me, working on the game is my little and silent comfort zone, where I retreat for 2-4 hours in the evening and just have fun.
What I also didn't expect at the start was that I would make new friends through my hobby. Friends who are willing to invest a lot of their personal time to support me in creating the game, for example by proofreading or playtesting. Thank you all for that. Those who are meant know who they are.
Briefly about the numbers after these 12 months (I'm dividing it into published and already created, as Chapter 4 is already in full production):
Words
- Published - 101563
- Written but not yet published - 41187
Static renders
- Published - 9133
- Created but not yet published - 1334
Animation renders
- Published - 9660
- Created but not yet published – 8520
Since I didn't want to publish this post completely empty-handed, the attached images give you a little preview of what you can expect in the (probably) next 12 months. Of course, the dates are still early, especially for chapters 5 and 6, which I haven't even started working on yet, so take them with a grain of salt. But I don't think they will deviate much from this. Each of the four releases so far has been either on time or weeks ahead of schedule, so those who have been following me over the past period should be used to this.
With the release of Chapter 4, the intro to the story is officially complete. Chapters 5 through 7 represent the conflict and decision phase. Chapters 8 through 10 are the respective endings, which will likely follow the same structure as the previous chapters, meaning that each character appears in each chapter and the respective ending spans three chapters.
Thanks to everyone who has supported me financially in whatever way they could. At the end of the year, I will prepare a financial report for those who are interested in that part of the AVN creation. There you will see a rough overview of the costs and revenues of an AVN like mine.
