I experienced this story with a heavy heart and a lot of tears, but I also felt a little bit connected to the MC. Especially since I lost my girl almost the same way 15 years ago, not knowing directly what was wrong until it was too late.

I welcome this kind of stories because its reality that sometimes life can be very unfair to those who dont deserve it. A decade ago, a story like this would probably slow me down again. The pain will never go away, but over the years you learn to deal with it.

Wow, what a start! Not sure I'm really sticking around for the LIs after that, but I am interested in seeing how this turns out for the MC. Definitely not a story for people trying to escape their own lives, but I'll be around for this. Good luck dev.

Today I finished the first version of the dialogs for chapter 1. I ended up with just under 17000 words (roughly 67 pages). To put that into perspective, the prologue had about 9300 words and 1003 renders excluding the bonus scene.

The prologue took about 1.5 months to complete.

The word count will shrink a bit while I edit it further, but based on what I have now, I think the first chapter will be about 1.5 times as big as the prologue if I keep the same render to word ratio.

I will give updates on the status from time to time during the creation process.

In general, I don't want to publish unfinished story sections, which means I won't split up chapters and the first chapter will appear as it's completely finished.

I'm a sucker for more serious stories, and damn.
At first I was slightly confused as to way the first bits of the story were going so fast, and then it all made sense.
Solid start. The only things I personally have issues are:

- Mc's clothes at the beginning of the story.
- Some of the music sound too cliche and cheap for a story with such tone.

The rest of it? Great.

Can you recommend other games that are similar?

Very few AVN have ever made me cry and feel emotion but man this one hit me so hard it was so heartbreaking I ended up crying by the end of the prologue, this AVN has so much potential from the storytelling to the renders and the music its honestly one of the best newer AVN I played in a long long time I cant wait for the next update.

My feelings while playing this game were a roller coaster.

When the wife died, I thought - Too bad, it's going to turn into an incest game.

When the daughter fell ill, I immediately thought, where is this going to end?

Well, she was alive in the hospital, so I felt more at ease. Then that nurse came in and was left alone with her, and I could already picture my house being set on fire again.

As I had a bit more time today, I was finally able to get back to the 3D work. A welcome change after a week of only looking at white pages.

I also thought about the best way to communicate progress and took Ren'Py as an example.

In Ren'Py, game sections are divided into labels and I will use the same in my communication as the main method. I have attached a simple graphic for this.

My working order that has proven to be the best for me is the following:

1. script & translation

2. 3D posing (evenings) & rendering (overnight)

3. editing

4. music & sounds

5. playtesting

6. release

I think I will update these on a weekly basis on sundays, as there won't really be much difference to report, especially in the long 3D & rendering phase.

On a bad day I can do around 25 renders, on a good day 50. Adding 2 weeks of editing, music&sound and playtesting that would mean 3 month worst case, 2 month best case to finish this chapter if I calculate with 1500-1850 renders (bonus scene exluded).

As a footnote, I'm experimenting with increasing the render quality from 1080p to 1440p. Render times and file sizes have surprisingly not increased that much after doing this. The whole thing is also a bit self-serving, as I'm working on a 1440p monitor and I would like to see the renderings in fullscreen without upscaling.

Should this have unforeseeable negative side effects later on, this is a simple change for me in image post-processing.

I really liked the content, but I'm still curious about the future focus of the VN. Will the protagonist become depressed, and will we have to choose the best partner to help him recover? I was a bit confused about the friend's role. Will he be a second protagonist who might cheat on his wife with the employees? It’s also unclear whether the protagonist is a partner in this company, and how that affects the potential LIs who work there.

MiltonPowers I know you were recommended this one in the same post it was recommended to me but I say it was a good one for a Prologue.

Actually do like how this dev is including bonus lewd scenes before we get to the lewd content as a way to practice and get feedback. I must say I do like the quality of the animations but the speed of the animations feels a bit to quick that makes it seem off but other than that seem pretty good animation quality if they were slower imo. At least compared to alot of other games
