Same error pops up for some users when trying to run "Adventure of a Lifetime"(same engine) on Windows 7. The solution was to install this update:

I think it is in C:\Users\(Username)\Saved Games\Mangagamer\The Most Forbidden Love in the World. But I'm pretty sure JP version save won't work with Mangagamer version.
