If I'm understanding the whole discussion correctly - and going off of the rewrite mentioned - then it seems the crux of the issue is people misunderstood Aine's sexy talk as referring to her past partners rather than a generalized reference. Having proofread and tested that specific scene (Howl can also attest to this) I assumed Aine was talking about us without explicitly saying "you".

The part I take issue with is the claims of what Aine should say/do as being more correct than what the dev originally wrote.

The problem is that she can't be talking about MC, since none of the things she talks about having done have been done with MC yet. She also uses a lot of plural pronouns, which don't really reconcile with her talking about just MC. It seems a pretty easy misunderstanding to make, if Aine really was meant to be talking only about MC.

I never intended anyone to take issue with anything I wrote. My main point was that her sexy talk seemed a wild deviation from how her character was written up to that point and comes across as the kind of oversharing that many romance fans are not comfortable with.

The rewritten lines deliver the same information about Aine's kink, while also making it clear that she's only interested in MC, and not thinking about her past relationships.

Not really, after having sex with MC, she calls herself a young elf, and how they age is of little to no consequence, you simply can't measure creatures that can live hundreds of years by the same metric. Friren showed that, beautifully/tragically, she only got a grasp on how fast time for humans passes after she lost a close friend. So her having one or even no prior relationship is absolutely believable. If she has anything, then it's time. Even more so if you think about how important romantic/emotional connection is to her.

Personally thought it showed MC in a very good light compared to her previous lover or lovers. Definitely the best both in looks and deed. I think that was the Devs intention conversation carries on in the style of the quite forthright Grym women. I actually found it flattering and she agrees she is yours now even to the point of discussing getting the law about marriage changed.

Sorry but much prefer the Devs original vision. Personally find Juerhullycin's sanitised rewrite a bit sad. Feel a rewrite would be like telling Aine to shut up and not be her self.

I have not the slightest fraction of an idea how you come from
"partners, them, they, them, them, them, them, them" to her speaking about you without either a massive amounts of cope or narcissism. The only time she talks about you is "yours is my favourite" (out of an uncounted bunch).

When the mc speaks with Aine during their first couple of meetings, he asks her if she is single and she confirms that she is. As for previous relationships and the reasoning behind why they didn't last, I'm pretty sure that you can put that down to the people were just getting close to her because of her family which is why she is so focused on looking for someone that is more interested in her than her family background.

Personally, I don't think she is a virgin for 2 reasons, firstly, she has more sucking power than a dyson which shows she is experienced in that and I wouldn't put it down to training with a banana like some girls do in preparation as she didn't miss a drop of cum. Secondly, she showed no signs of being shocked when he was womb fucking her, in fact she was using that to her advantage to make the mc even more excited. I cannot fathom how that made you think she was making Rane special. As for marriage, the only reason anyone wants to bed and wed him is the magic kids thing, it's political. Literally none of that interaction was remotely personal to Rane.

The Cerys thing isn't a big deal, so much as it's a big question. If you bring something like that up in the middle of sex, suddenly you say "I had my fun before we met." That begs the response "WHAT NOW?" You can't just drop that during a moment that's supposed to be intimate and not explain why. It killed the intimacy completely cos suddenly there's a question, one that would not have been thought about, at all, until she suddenly starts talking about it out of nowhere, then after she plants the thought of what exactly has Cerys been doing with other people, when she had her fun...? I also had high hopes, figured this would be on Eternums level too with the initial setup, I was looking forward to it so much after the initial release and my god is it such a let down after that.

My giving the benefit of the doubt with the dialogue is that the dev attempted to make it sexy by trying too hard and didn't actually think it through. But to be honest with the way they went with the Áine sex talk it does appear they've got a bit of cuckold fetish going on. I mean that did spring from somewhere, and that somewhere was the writers brain...

This really brings up an interesting point in the Aine discussion. Dev actually went back and rewrote that line from Cerys, so instead of "having her fun", she only says that she dated a bit *before* she ever met MC, which is fair, since she was already 22 by then, and it doesn't even suggest that she did more than go out to dinner. Dev clearly understood that a lot of players didn't like the idea that Cerys had fooled around with other guys, so he changed it. Yet, for some unknown reason, repeated that mistake with Aine, but on a much larger scale.

Similarly, dev acknowledged that a decent number of his target audience(harem/romance) do not like lesbian interactions within the harem, so he gave players the choice to have Cerys discuss her bisexual fantasies during sex, or not. Seems like, at the very least, he could have given players a similar choice to have Aine rant about past lovers or not, considering the vast majority of his target audience does not like to hear about that.

At the very least, we should have been given a choice to turn Aine down, or at least refuse to have sex with her, after she reveals her obsession with dicks/cum. I originally made all the choices to flirt with and pursue Aine, because early on she seemed pretty perfect. The romance lock-in choice for Aine comes very early on, long before the cursed scene. As such, we end up getting blindsided by the rug-pull, and the only option we have is to reload and replay like 80% of the game to avoid getting locked-in with her again.

My god, you people can be so dense, or maybe your reading comprehension is just terrible. Even if she did all those things, it was before she met the MC. Cerys and the MC met when she was 22 and he was 20. They were friends for two years before he disappeared for five, and she waited for him that entire time.

Sometime some Dev or some players forgot they are MAKING/READING a VISUAL STORY adult game that some players did read lines between lines to understand and enjoy the atmosphere/ambiance the story brought to players. When they suddenly saw some lines that may conflict their expectation or feel uncomfortable, they are certainly having opinions towards those lines. Dev at least did a great job not to show some disturbing image in his game.

If I was writing the story would change a few things about the MC but wont say what its the Devs story to tell and like most of us loving it so far.
