Finnabair! Dev how could you!?
Well, mine is clean. I'm on Windows and Linux and it's clean. Not sure wtf is going on, but it's a lil sus. How can a file be infected and not infected? I have used BD, Defender and PandaOnline. I also tried MBAM, just a few ago. Nothing. It wasn't unfortunately, I saw the comment almost immediately and checked our version and it had the same code so I reached out to staff here and deleted it. I've reworked our code too to see if we can get better at detecting it. Ahhhh
If you're on MAC/Linux btw it doesn't affect you, it solely targets windows so if you downloaded the torrent it'd definitely be in your best interests to do all the usual scans etc and make sure you're safe.
Hey, bud if you dwnl from Patreon you're on the safe side, if you used the link from OP,Com´ver. or the one posted in the thread.Well, mine is clean. I'm on Windows and Linux and it's clean. before SOL post then probably you have a virus,
here on the first page is a brief explanation
From my understanding the original authorI dl'd it from rpdl torrents. I have used several scanners and no infection.

Oh sorry my bad, the rpdl guy's were the ones who cleaned it first, they posted right after the warningI dl'd it from rpdl torrents. I have used several scanners and no infection.
I got it before they took it down, it's now back up. But, I've purged it from my pc and am redling it. I just think it's a waste of time as I wasn't infected.Oh sorry my bad, the rpdl guy's were the ones who cleaned it first, they posted right after the warning
There was no actual infection in the file to be found anyway from what I am gathering....just code to allow a connection to it.I got it before they took it down, it's now back up. But, I've purged it from my pc and am redling it. I just think it's a waste of time as I wasn't infected.
Same, I ran the game about 30 minutes ago and Kaspersky detected the script and blocked its initialization, got confused why it didn't show it yesterday, hence why I'm here.luck for me Kaspersky just stop the game and desinfected, sadly this thing happening.
Or just wait a few days. Life is not going to to end if people can't play something immediately. It appears this will be a recurring problem now and then, time to play on virtual boxes...
I know. Apparently you run the game on the 1st, you get infected. I ran it before the first and then this morning and still no infection. Ran a few AVs, nothing detected. Only thing I'm confused about is how tf is something infected for some and not infected for others. Sure, the AV can clean an infection, but usually that renders the game/file/whatever unusable. Anyway, doesn't matter, I removed it and am dling the new one. There was no actual infection in the file to be found anyway from what I am gathering....just code to allow a connection to it.
Or firewall software that require you to approve connecting to unknown hosts. It appears this will be a recurring problem now and then, time to play on virtual boxes...
Definitely. I'm just worried when this happens again with another game and the activation time for the script gets delayed even more, but that would only affect a "few" people since the major already played the update before the activation, but everything is possible. It seems like whoever is doing this is just testing the waters to see what happens...Or just wait a few days. Life is not going to to end if people can't play something immediately.
It's possible but knowing Ceo and how he codes with his variables, it would be surprising if it's wrong. There is a similar one when attacking/talking to Bart early on and then at the end of chapter 2 this is then referenced with a >=0.But the responses seemed off to me so looking at the code I see "mc_conf_calm += 1" is assigned to all the 'confrontational response' options and "mc_conf_calm -=1" assigned to all the 'calm response' options. This seems backwards to me. Does anyone else have an explanation?
I found that odd too, could just be a labeling thing. All choices I saw are done with a negative tally and then any event that checks the variable seems correct. If the MCs calm score isn't, in this case, low enough into the negatives they'll have a sudden outburst with the dialog.I found those files after d/l and playing the game earlier today. Defender did not detect them even when scanning the specific files. I've deleted everything and doing some house cleaning and we'll see what happens. I run these games on an isolated machine anyway, so nothing critical to worry about. I have since d/l the game again and those files were gone. What a difference an hour makes.
But, the real reason I came here in the first place was to ask about a counter-intuitive (at least to me) set of choices in the game. In the father/son/mom chat we are given the choices of 'confrontational response' and 'calm response'. But the responses seemed off to me so looking at the code I see "mc_conf_calm += 1" is assigned to all the 'confrontational response' options and "mc_conf_calm -=1" assigned to all the 'calm response' options. This seems backwards to me. Does anyone else have an explanation?
