I think it hit too hard. I don't know the rest of the story but it created a lot of absolute haters for the Templars and Ceo said he wants MC to be neutral. I think if he had killed of Finn's dad, and Finn and Medb were sad and asked him to go to the Templars are find out what happened - see if there was a chance to prevent war ... MC might have been closer to neutral but killing (IMO) the games best Li and then asking MC to be neutral, especially given his recent history with the Templars, is a fantasy. Ceo can force that reaction but a lot of people won't feel it.
This.

My initial reaction to the whole thing still stands :

The MC needs to find whoever is responsible and hold them accountable.

And by accountable I mean kill them. Painfully. Fire will likely be involved. As will a big tiger.

I'm a bit worried the dev will make Katja the killer.

Agree - Ceo could have put is in a difficult place. After the funeral you talk to Medb and she says "Find out what happened, maybe it's not too late to prevent war" and then with Finn who fucks his brains out and says "Find out who did it, tell me and help me kill them". and then MC has to decide which route to take - Medb and the peace route or Finn and the revenge/war route. Now it's just about revenge. There is nothing Medb could say really. I like her but I want nothing but pain (a lot of it) and eventual death for whoever did it.

The main thing in the process of finding the responsible is not to find yourself. :giggle:
Nah, I don't regret anything. Finn should have trained more with a sword instead of listening to tall tales about the Alfar superiority and not rushing at strangers like a mad dog.

Doesn't Medb say they were ambushed or something? As unlikely as ambushing Elves in the forest sounds...

Either way, we don't know for sure what went down. If she was outnumbered 6 to 1 all the training in the world wouldn't matter.

Who is “park girl”? Fionna? (and I like Medb but she’s not a Li, she’s 2000 years old - she would never see MC as an equal).
I like Medb as an LI.

She is beautiful, strong, intelligent, has compassion (her brother helped teach her humanity also has good in it), and can help the MC learn so much about Neverwhere and the Alfar - some of which the Templars would likely never know.

I also think she will be the hardest of the LIs to win over.

* She has a racial bias against humanity

* We don't know how easy it is for her to learn new habits and let go of old hurts.

We just got our first real span of time where she and the MC got to know each other better and I enjoyed this time away from the Templars a great deal!

The only Li that is hard for me to trust is Kaija, the MC's ex-girlfriend, since she abused my trust with, at a minimum, lies of omission.

Adding the MC's parents' role in deceiving ... I mean protecting... him and Kaija is the Li who has the deepest hole to climb out of.

I like both Fiona and Elea as well, so I am interested in how much quality time we get with them in the next release.

Cheers!! :coffee:

I still think Finn's death is due to the influence of, or direct action by, the still hidden third faction/party.

Someone with powerful magical abilities, human or species currently unknown to us, cast a very strong illusion spell on the Damas assassin to help it get close enough to Medb to kill her.

Someone has been tracking Medb and the Alfar and lured them into the city where she would be more vulnerable.

We are still missing far too many pieces of the puzzle to Know that this was Templar action, independent of any third-party influence or manipulation.

This is part of the great storytelling that makes this world so compelling.

It also makes waiting for updates much harder for me as it is so much more than just who the MC's going to bang next and how.

Cheers!! :coffee:
