Youre all way too easily resentfull and vengeful similar to how our mc acts immature and narcistic in the beginning.

At this point we simply lack information to judge anyone (kaija, templars, parents, elves) too harshly and everyone is already like yyyeaaahhh lets crucify kaija and genocide humanity !!! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: she lied to me after all!!!

Could not agree more tho I admit Im ready to get rid of the templars even without knowledge to make a good decision of what faction I like more because I grew quite fond of Elfs. I assume it be a different story now that Fin is dead ,if the MC should return even if Medb vouches for us.

I hope/think it wont be a black/white story aka the evil templars versus the good elves, it seems more like a story where all factions are kinda fucked up at least partially which i prefer.

yeah same tho I can't see a scenario where it isn't a black/white story for the hellspawn / demons, but this dev seems good at throwing a surprise at us so who knows.

:ROFLMAO: Well they probably arent the most honorable knights but they could still be used/controlled by someone else

Hey everyone and sorry to interrupt you,

time for the next Dev Update.
This was a pretty standard week. I built the next test build last weekend, did some test runs on it, and already found a few bugs to fix. Getting that build done was a bit more work than expected due to the number of renders and the branching of the scene.
But it's done now and I moved on to the next part of the scene.
This one's going to be "fun." 6 assets with dforce on it that need to be simulated every time the poses change even just a little bit. To make it even better, the animations in that scene need the assets to be simulated for nearly 400 frames.

If I'm not bitching about branching, I'm bitching about dforce, it seems... :-D
Anyway, I still got a few things done besides the test build.

The numbers for this week:
48 new static renders for a total of 877
3 new animations for a total of 7
145 new lines in the script file for a total of 2616

The plan for next week is to continue the work on the animations and get them done (hopefully) by the end of the week.

Have a nice weekend, guys.
Cheers,
Ceo

P.S. Feel free to go back to the Kaija/Templar discussions now.

It is a bit off topic, sorry about that just out of curiosity, is there a better engine than D,force? I heard that explosions are specially challenging due to the sheer amount of particles going everywhere.

well you can most likely do it better with Blender than DAZ, but it has a lot of learning curve. Some devs use Blender for stuff like this, while majority of the game is still done in DAZ.

pretending to be in a relationship with your childhood friend to make you job easier is not nice thing to do.
We've beaten this topic to death recently, so I really don't want to get into it much again. But I did want to clarify that Kaija directly and unambiguously denies starting a relationship to make her job easier.

Now, you can of course choose not to believe her, but there's really no way to know for certain if she's telling the truth or not since it's about internal feelings and motivations.

Edit: Now on the other topic of Finn being killed, my two main theories are that the Templars did kill her, but it was set up by a third-party to try to instigate a war. She's Medb's daughter, and Medb was targeted earlier as well. Or she was just killed by third-party directly and tried to make to look like Templars.

I'll be honest, the numbers for the endless Kaija/Templar debates are too big for me to handle. So let's focus on the dev diary numbers instead! With this week's numbers, Ceolag is now averaging around 58 static renders, 0.5 animations, and 174 lines per week since work on Chapter 6 began. Here are the charts:

As expected, we started an animation surge this week. It sounds like it should be wrapping up in a week or two, and I'm very curious to see what comes next since that will probably give us some clues about the scope of Chapter 6. But for now, I'm glad to hear there's lots of branching in Kaija's scene, since there are clearly a lot of different starting points when it comes to our attitude towards her!

Thanks :)
Only very few explosions yet and if they happened, it was because I messed up the settings.
No crashes yet. But I also learned the hard way to save every time before hitting the simulate button. :ROFLMAO:

Blender is generally considered vastly superior to DAZ for physics simulations.
But to work with DAZ and Blender you need to know quite a lot about Blender. And I know shit about Blender. I can't even move the camera around in that fucking tool. I think it's just not compatible with my brain...

I'll disagree only on this: I think we have sufficient information to judge the Templars as fairly inept: they're disastrously unorganized, utterly outmatched by their apparent opponents, and lacking in even the most basic understanding of human nature. Now, whether they're well-meaning but incompetent, myopically amoral, or even outright malevolent remains to be seen; their ultimate goals are unclear. But I feel more than justified in viewing any of their proposals with extreme skepticism.

But otherwise, strong agreement. I have no idea why people find the Alfar any more palatable than the Templars, and reformed or not, I can easily see Finnabair picking an unprovoked fight with the Templars (or anyone else) because orders are orders.

I agree with this. I think Kajia i just as responsible as anyone for what happened - though I did start a playthough where you remain with Kajia but burn bridges with your parents and the Templars just to see how that works (no idea yet because you don't see Kajia between the "burn bridges" decision and going to see the Elves.) I think it's entirely possible though that she killed Finn - possibly trying to find out what happened to MC.
I mean medb does offer to record a video message to send back home right? then why would templars and kaija search for MC?

I 100% agree.

I'd also like to emphasize that people within a group aren't going to necessarily have views that align fully with the overall group itself. For example, I'm sure that there are people within the Templars that are quite well-meaning and try to be moral, as well as people that lean more towards the incompetence and amorality you suggest as also possible. So I think it's important to consider these types of things both at an organizational level and at the individual level.
