I just figured something out and I think I may re-do my main save so that Kate is my main Li. First, I've said this before but, I think the two year old she saved grew up to be Steroid Kevin - which must make her sad, giving up so much for so little. Second, and more important, I think Kate is the little girl whose parents were killed and was sent away to live with relatives. If that is true then it looks like the Templars are trying to do to her what they did with MC. She has a job with someone who is not a Templar but is someone the Templars trust and there is a Templar who comes in an stares at her all day and is trying to start a relationship (so they're trying to make Steroid Kevin into her Kajia.)

If Mac is in fact related to Kate, I suspect the Templars have that association because she might not be entirely human (given that Mac is almost certainly a reference to one of the Tuatha De Danann).

Well, if Fiona is indeed Fand it would mean she's the (ex-)wife of Manannán mac Lir, the owner of Fragarach (most likely the second sword). She would be sister-in-law with Aengus, the guy I assume to be Angus "Mac" Guyver though.

Mac is at various points referred to as Angus as well, and has some unusual things going on with him.
One of the Tuatha is Aengus, also known as Macan Óc.

Whether all of that is on the nose or not, I suspect that Kate is the one MC has most in common with. I think, when I get around to it, that's going to be the main save - be friends with everyone (except the Templars) - but not on any of their paths, except Kate.
