Eh, I'd dispute her claim since AFAICT the sword has been missing for at least as long as it was in the Aflar's care (possibly far longer given the subjective speed of time in Alfheimr). Not to mention that her claim has dubious merit to begin with since Medb doesn't know how the Alfar came to posses Durendal in the first place; if it was bequeathed to them by a rightful owner you'd think they'd remember that rather than assume they had created it.It sort of did, at least Medb had the best claim to it of anyone that we know if since it belonged to her (adopted - human) brother. We don't know where it was for the last 700 years but didn't MC offer it back to her when she told the story?
At any rate, I agree with the initial point that Medb's assertions shouldn't be taken as gospel truth. At best they're prone to error (like with Durendal's origins), at worst they're little better than propaganda (like the statement that Templars killed her brother).
