I'm in the process of wrapping up version 0.6.0.1 which will be the version released to the Mercenary tier and Steam tomorrow.
It includes a few minor fixes in the code and some renders, but nothing game-breaking.
Because of the upcoming post with the new version, I unpinned the post with the 0.5.0.5 version.
It's still there if you need it, but you need to scroll down/search for it.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with the release so far and I'm looking forward to tomorrow.
Chapter 6 was the roughest development to date because of several setbacks due to RL reasons (I won't go into detail again, if you're interested you can find everything in the old Devlogs).
Additionally, it got bigger than I expected. I was aware of the fact that I have to cover a lot of stuff for Kaija, Elea, and Fiona with this Chapter but in the end, one idea led to another and thus to more work.
For example, the new... "menu" in Kaija's and Fiona's scenes was something I decided to add through the development of Chapter 6. It wasn't planned that way from the beginning.
I said it before, and it certainly feels like I said it after every release... but I do hate these long development times and the next Chapter has to be smaller.
Speaking of the next Chapter, development will start within the next several days.
I want to get it done this year and it feels like I have no time to "waste" to meet that goal.
This is no promise, of course. One thing I learned this year the hard way is, that there are things you can't predict or change and that will have a huge (negative) impact on development times.
Especially as a solo developer with a full-time job and a family.
I'm planning the content for Chapter 7 with that in mind. At least I try to.
We'll see how that works out at the end of the year...
I'm also planning to add more languages to the game. I started working on the first one but it won't be ready for Chapter 6. Hopefully for Chapter 7.
If you're interested in helping with the translations (mostly proofreading, getting rid of weird translations, etc - not a full translation) feel free to contact me through Discord (because I want all development-related stuff in one place).

Excommunication isn't throwing a stone - it's walking away from them forever.
Also, failing to punish any wrong doing because everyone has done some wrong would lead to a world where no one was punished for any activity, hardly a good outcome. Perhaps it could be changed to 'he who has only committed less serious wrongs throw the first stone'
More directly to the matter at hand:
I forget the book and I'm sure I won't get the quote perfect but it had a line that has stuck with me for some 20 years: "You can remove the crown of a liar but it forever leaves a stain." I don't know if it is possible to truly forgive someone that has betrayed your trust in a way that is meaningful to you - I've tried in my life only to have them betray me again but really, even before that I didn't really trust them, perhaps thats is why they betrayed me again, or perhaps they just were the type to betray.
However, the meaningful to you is important. A 'betrayal' that can be justified can be overlooked. In The Audition, a particularly disturbing film I had to watch for a film class, the antagonist feels betrayed by the protagonist because he said he'd only love her but he also loves his son, his love for his son is seen as a betrayal. I expect most people would see her feelings of betrayal as entirely out of line.
Super heroes lying to their loved ones to protect them seems to be as old as comic books - Clark Kent and Lois Lane. Yes it's different because he didn't establish the relationship to protect her, but in many of the versions they are either married or about to get married when he tells her. In some versions he never tells her. But he does it to keep her safe from being used as a weapon against him - so is that okay.
So the question really comes down to a simple question - does the MC see her breach of faith as justifiable, since she was protecting him from harm (from her perspective at least). There is no universal resolution to this question. Both responses are, from my perspective, reasonable.

Fact: Kaija saved MC from certain death at the hands of Elves backed killer terrorists who turned a whole city block into world war three to get MC dead or incapacitated - effectively shot a anti-tank warhead at his car head on.
Anyone praising the Elves are rooting for the terrorists who launched a full on assault with a warhead straight into the face of MC, Kaija saved his life- MC owes a debt of gratitude to Kaija the size of his life.

The MC himself now praises the elves, i even tried to petition ceolag to add an option to miss Finns funeral, but current chapter shows that MC is heavily into elves.
