Yes and no. There's essentially three versions of the starting GF based on choices you make regarding her in the first 1-2 Chapters.

If you have a bad relationship with her, it's a lot emotionally easier to end that relationship.

He's not wrong tho. Starting the game with a girlfriend or LI set in stone and it not being harem usually makes said girl be forgotten. We have seen this be the case with a bunch of other games like in race of life and those LI's never recover from it.

Oh, I don't disagree. Mainly was pointing out that 'low love' Kaija isn't exactly a "perfectly normal girlfriend" situation, and that even Ceolag would do it differently if starting from scratch.

It's slightly more complicated, but basically, yes.

I always felt like starting the game with a girlfriend made you feel more pressured to do their content. I don't hate Kaija like a lot of people on here seem to, but she's not my favorite either. I always feel bad having to break up with her. With everyone else in this game I can just not show interest for saves when I'm not on their route.

No but, Fiona's, Medb and Elea introduce a lot of content that will be unavailable if you follow only Kaija's path. It's like Steph in Leap of Faith.

Sexual content, perhaps. TNT has done a pretty good job of having "friend" paths though for the other main LIs so that you get a good bit of their non-lewd content still. That's one reason the branching is still tolerable for me.

This current chapter end does have more exclusive story branching and suggests next Chapter might as well. But I'd still not call it 75% of content.

Exactly, so far the only content that isn't lewd restricted to the route is:
Kaija's family history, information available only if you're in Kaija's route
Fiona's true identity, restricted to Fiona's route only

I replayed the game on the solo path and I can say it is definitely more interesting than Fiona's path. It was not for nothing that my mom and dad did not want to introduce me to this world. Now I am without a mom and dad, I went to the elves to increase the population.
