Allow me to clarify. In RLE, Zero and Professor X are adversarial to one another because neither is a character, both are plot devices. Being scolded by and blackmailing Xavier are gameplay mechanics and pretty much the only interaction you ever have with him. In TNH, Null and Chuck have a bit more personality and the game is not JUST about doing things a school headmaster would be against a student doing.Oh, like Null wouldn't orchestrate an orgy of the opportunity presented itself. Sure, the writers give him the nice-guy, self-insert anime protagonist persona, and Storm says that you have to "maintain your modesty" in the locker room showers. But we all know that Null isn't all that different from Zero, and that not much modesty will be maintained when you eventually have Storm on the edge of your dick.

The premise in RLE works a lot better though. Makes for funnier interactions as well.Allow me to clarify. Not all girls will start as rivals, and some will naturally develop friendships with others more rapidly. We're aware of how tedious it could be and that's not our goal.Having to endear the new girl to all your other girlfriends seems like it would only get more tedious. When you have like 10 members it's going to feel like a sex cult.
I don't see how it's more realistic for the girls to be open to a polycule, an incredibly niche thing, but not casual sex/fuckbuddies which are relatively a lot more normal.
It makes sense for Jean to demand commitment, but Rogue's always a big slut whenever someone's able to touch her.
You've said before that there will be future love interests who are more casual about sex, you just didn't think the first 3 fit, but what about Laura? It seems like she wants to do that but then the player puts on the brakes. Why? Why not give us the option?
We already have someone who's more casual about sex, Laura (sort of), but then Null is the one who insists on doing the same procedure as with every girl.As you just mentioned, some future girls may be more casual about sex
I think you succeeded, the girls feel like fleshed out characters. The chapter 1 girls, their personalities, and at what point they're at in their lives all informed us about how they would feel regarding sex and romance. We specifically wanted to avoid what we consider poor adaptations or versions of these characters, and instead make them feel realistic in how they approach romance.
At the start of the game Laura is basically the opposite of the type of person who would be into casual sex. She's socially outcast and very very uncomfortable with people getting close to her or physical contact in general. Then, once she starts doing research and talking to Rogue for advice she gets her ideas of "proper" romance and how relationships should work.We already have someone who's more casual about sex, Laura (sort of), but then Null is the one who insists on doing the same procedure as with every girl.
And I do like that sort of dynamic, but i feel it railroads you so hard here.
Yeah that's what I meant by "(sort of)". She has her intimacy issues and unorthodox upbringing of course, but after confessing to each other she's basically like "oh boy, smooching time", but Null is like "no way fag".At the start of the game Laura is basically the opposite of the type of person who would be into casual sex. It's quite simple. This is a whole different universe, a different Earth. They simply just choose to be open to polyamory in this case. I mean, look at RLE. You think that's any more realistic to this one?But how is it more realistic for them to be more open to polyamory than casual sex?
When I or anyone says "realistic" we mean according to our universe and standards, since including any possible reality would make the word meaningless. It's quite simple. This is a whole different universe, a different Earth. They simply just choose to be open to polyamory in this case.
You want realism in a porn game?! Impossible!I see I have failed at conveying what my real argument was, I apologize and will try again.
If you want the player to have the option to date multiple women, but to also keep realism in mind, then I think the characters would more readily accept casual sex before polyamory.
And being a bit of a fuckboy is going to look less silly than being in a commited relationship with half the faculty.

realism in a game about mutants lolYou want realism in a porn game?! Impossible!
It's a curious thought though. Tbh I see why you suggested an unpopular opinion, I mean you did created an alt account to ask this right? I too would, to a certain degree, understand your view on the whole "casual sex before polyamory" but I also think It's something that isn't really concerning and shouldn't be so fixated too much on it.
We should be more fixated on the upcoming of chapter 1 finale and future love interests! HOORAH!
That logic doesn't work. RLE does not take itself serious. TNH is way more ambitious with what it tries to do with its story. That's why RLE pulls it off easily, but gets boring quickly. TNH is way harder to write. Especially when you try to combine things like romance and harem in a "realistic"/"serious" story. It's quite simple. This is a whole different universe, a different Earth. They simply just choose to be open to polyamory in this case. I mean, look at RLE. You think that's any more realistic to this one?
Code-wise (as in, I don't know the full intention. I can only surmise the intention from the code), it's tied to points that are only given (at the time of writing) via specific decisions. There are 2 variables that collect points, (quirk)_encouraged and (quirk)_discouraged. Some checks check only for if one exists. Others check to see if one is larger than another. When it passes (or fails) the checks, the character can have different stats(not 100% accurate, but trying not to spoil anything), different set of dialogue, some different options (again, being super vague to not spoil anything), etc.Im a little confused about the quirk system, is it tied to specific decisions or is it an overall point score?
I didn't take the first one or two masochism/submissive choices for Rogue (just felt weird to jump into that in like the first conversation) but have pretty much done every single one since and yet we just had a talk where she said i "shut that down pretty quickly".
That's despite her already acting super submisvely otherwise (asking for permission to leave, being deferential at the mall, waiting for me to order food for her, etc)
Ah i see, so it might be that this scene with Rogue is only checking for the (quirk)_discouraged variable and perhaps not comparing it to the encouraged variable to see if one is higher. Either way, thank you for the code breakdown, good to be awareCode-wise (as in, I don't know the full intention. id say a 90% chanceDoes anyone know if Kitty Pryde is ever going to be in this game in the future?
