Man, i swear, every time youre difficult on purpose on this issue.
I'm Taiwanese, man. If we backed down everyone someone wanted to be comfortable, China would have taken us over a long time ago. Besides. It's my view. You don't have to agree. You don't even have to argue. I've said my piece. If you don't reply, I won't push it. It's not like Shiny and the writers don't already have something in mind.

Its simple, if in comic book readers mind, both Psylocke and Jubilee were asian, in this game people would expect them to look asian, no, it does not matter if you didnt see it that way because they arent accurate, the example someone brought up of mortal kombat is exactly right.

I didn't say they shouldn't look Asian. I'm just saying, don't say it. Don't explicitly go "I'm Japanese". Let the environment and story imply it and then let the player take it the rest of the way.

Right, how many of the love interests so far in game have told you so far their race? For example, what race is Laura? Because, last I checked, none. They say, in writing, less is more. Like you mentioned, Elektra isn't Japanese, but she learned martial arts. So with Psylocke, it could be, "I trained with X and Y in Japan as a child."
Laura might be half-hispanic depending on what source material one draws from, but obviously was made in a lab and doesn't know where she comes from outside of Logan, and it affects her whole character.

Race isn't a big part of Rogue, but her southeast-US heritage is - the way she talks, the food she eats, etc. Also she has yet to elaborate on her backstory much almost certainly because she's hiding the secret that she was adopted by Mystique and that's the "difficult family" she's been getting those phone calls from in the game.

When we get to Storm next season, that's a character who used to be worshipped as a goddess by an African tribe. There's no way that doesn't affect how a person sees themselves.

Psylocke could be written to have feelings about being of mixed heritage, of being different from her brothers, or of being the product of a relationship similar to Null's if the writers decide to go in any of those directions. Those would all be big factors in a person's upbringing that would shape their life and personality and honestly it'd be a waste for a writer to disregard the opportunity to flesh her out.

Do we have any previews or ideas on which design Psylocke will get in this game?

Not yet. Not knowing what direction they'll take is what sparked this debate. I just want to encourage them to go in the "skip to the 90's and say she was born that way" route because her caucasian design has never been popular and the bodyswap is problematic these days (and not just for the usual reasons one uses the word "problematic" on the internet.)

I grew up reading comics with her in the original look. Left comics .. came back and she was Japanese now, thought that was weird wondered what happened but moved on. Then left comics again and now she's back to original heh

And all that highlights my point. They talk about the character's past, not her race. It's their past/backstory that shapes them. You don't know their race and yet their stories are impactful. Because it's their story, not their race. So with Psylocke, just mention her story. Don't come right out and say "I'm Japanese." Just go, "I raised in a X house hold. We trained in Y." etc. etc. Even mixed heritage doesn't mean race. Talk to all the non-Japanese people that were born and live in Japan. Like the Koreans that immigrated to Japan to escape the Korean war. They're considered not really Japanese and the Korea they were raised with/taught about no longer exists. They face hardship in traversing life being in a cultural limbo. That's interesting. The story's interesting. Not the race.

This thread has a history of always going far off topic, even when we have an off topic thread specifically for it. heh
To be clear, I'm not debating her race. I'm just saying (my personal opinion) how I would like for the devs of this game to implement Psylocke if she was to be added.

I dont think this applies to the Laura in TNH, since she has the Kinney surname, that pretty much sets it in stone that her mother was Sarah Kinney like in the comics.

The problem is, what you're suggesting is the to tell the same story I'm suggesting...but you want to censor/remove specific words. Even if you don't say "Britain" and "Japan", everyone will still know because people already know the character. It would be no more effective than telling a child to say "darn" instead of "damn", "butt" instead of "ass", or "poop" instead of "shit". It's just pointless and honestly probably a very clumsy way to write.

As someone who's never read, watched... whatever Xman, is the British version we got in RLE incorrect?

Anyway Imma just chime in and say something before our lord and savior ShinyBoots appears from stasis and settles it.

Going by media standards in video games, cartoons, movies and etc. She's often portrayed as being Asian so my guess is that she'll be asian as well in TNH. As for how, don't care. Is her race really important? Not really to me she just needs to like asian enough. I'm more focused on how her character, story and interactions will be among the other TNH characters. Her race could be a part of her backstory I'm sure, but it shouldn't be her entire personality or character nor define her completely. A factor yes but not the entirety.

Anyway, if DEI was present in the game, Jean would've been black since she's a redhead. the end XD

Ya'll still have your cocks? Damn bros, mine popped off when I was a wee lad and left when it went to buy milk. To this day, it never came back and pissing is a bitch.
Accept my sincerest condolences...
Have you tried reporting the case of missing phallus to the Wiener Police?
