After she gets her powers she struggles to keep herself from falling through floors. Would be funny if later Kitty pretended to have issues sleeping she falls through her room which ends up with her sleeping with player at night to stop her from falling. They are pretty much swamped with just the girls already planned so I doubt they we will be seeing new girls for a while unless it's as a cameo. Also, Armor's niche overlaps with psylock too much and isn't a well known character.
Not trying to be a buzzkill but I doubt we will see less known characters until the major ones are exhausted first. We haven't even seen Magneto let alone any of the Brotherhood girls.

This was talked about yesterday. The cut off point for characters that can be introduced is going to be 1996, based on the storylines the devs want to visit.
If people want an idea of the girls who might be introduced, look up the list of X-men who were introduced from the original team, until the Onslaught Saga.
