The flickering clothes issue persists for me no matter the video settings, but it only happens when I load a save mid-game. Quitting to the main menu and loading a save from there fixes it.

Eh not really?

While I can't, and most certainly wouldn't if I could, confirm just what Null's power and his end game is I will point out something out.

Y'all are looking at Null's abilities as separate. Instead of part of a whole.
Sorry, was just working off what I could remember in how it was described.

So it could be one power just acting in different ways?
Null isn't copying or imitating powers, he says it himself "it took INSPIRATION from".
His current mutation is still in it's infancy and is growing based on the necessary response to trauma and the energy of others his bodies energy field has interfaced with, whether to nullify or drain. He nulls or drains, Rouge, Laura, and Jean 99% of the time, their x-gene signatures are most of the energy he has going through him.
So Null's power could be mutant energy manipulation? Just subconsciously adapting it to fit his current needs?

Not as familiar with X-Men lore as others here and I've only read power read Uncanny X-Men up to 251 so this was informative.

Google Sebastian Shaw and look up how his powers work, you will see what I mean.

I've made detailed posts in this thread about this but the X-gene itself is reactionary. It responds to extreme stress, usually life or death situations where the user will die within a short time frame, though some people have a lower threshold. The way Null's X-gene activated all 3 times isn't uncommon.

The X-gene triggers a hyper evolution effect in response to trauma but the final product is MOSTLY, but not entirely, random; If you tortured someone with fire they may gain the ability to control fire or they could develop fireproof skin.
Also, outside of rare cases like Emma, most people can only activate a full X-gene mutation once per lifetime. Children of mutants can inherit their parents mutation (though many don't) and get a second one.

Once a X-gene is active it matures with user and the mutagenic effect remains active for several years, longer for adolescents, then goes dormant for the rest of the users life. That's why many mutants die instead of getting a second mutation to survive a traumatic event, they used up their mulligan, Null got his mutation recently and is young so he's still in the grey area (Ba dum tss).
Cases like Laura where the child gets an almost exact copy of their parents ability is uncommon outside of genetic tampering, which did happen with Laura.

Because he's already on a set path.
A good example is Emma again, she has telepathy but after some stressful events develops telekinesis in some continuities. Emma already had psychic potential, with the right push the ability expands.
Null is the same, his power directly interacts with the energies that mutants give off but not their physical characteristics; Laura's claws don't disappear and Kurt doesn't stop being blue but Laura can't regen and Kurt can't teleport.

All the abilities he develops are interlinked with energy manipulation, his drain power takes energy and his regen power requires his own or stolen energy to work. Even his nullification power is a form of energy manipulation, psychics are good examples, Null can nullify psychic energy trying to get in his mind but even while doing so it doesn't turn off the psychics ability being used at range, it is acting on the energy of the mutant not the body.

Null isn't copying or imitating powers, he says it himself "it took INSPIRATION from".
His current mutation is still in it's infancy and is growing based on the necessary response to trauma and the energy of others his bodies energy field has interfaced with, whether to nullify or drain. Now thats some proper effortposting!

I wasn't aware of that aspect of his kinectic energy absorbtion power, geniunely never read the comics where that is mentioned.

That's interesting and would fit with Null's power as well as explaining some things about Null. I am guessing chapter 2 being the Hellfire club would answer some of those questions or create new ones. Would also explain why Emma Frost is going to be interested in Null beyond wanting to use his power for her own ends but we'll have to see as I am guessing there are a few more twists down the road especially regarding the Shadow King because I feel there is more to it then just wanting to possess someone potentially close to the Hellfire club and why he didn't do it before Null manifested his powers.

Without going in to spoiler territory I recommend sticking to comics from mid 80's to early 00's, that was the golden era of comics where politics was kept to a minimum and writers just focused on making fun stories, thats not to say the politics weren't there but it wasn't the hamfisted tumblr fanfic tier slop we get today.
You can find a lot of it uploaded online and it doesn't require a huge time commitment.

There is a reason the makers of this game chose that time period as reference material and so many have fond recollections of it but not anything from the last 20 years.

A lot of people are put off by the older artstyle but IMO it's actually a better fit for comics than the digital art we have today, artists back then had to do everything by hand and so focused more heavily on using color, negative space, and exaggerated gestures to convey meaning, emotion, and focus readers attention on the right details (picrel), then throw in a bit of fan service as a cherry on top to tickle the lizard part of the brain;
such a good understanding of the medium has been lost in modern US comics.

Now vs then

Ironically, the only artists in mainstream US comics that still understand the medium are either freelance artists on the outs with the industry or South Americans who grew up with material from a better age.

Same with the writing, it was cheesy at times but it conveyed meaning and entertained the reader with a very limited amount of page space. Not everything has be to gritty and hyper realistic, comics are meant to be fun.

Again, I highly recommended reading the older stuff, it was just better.

I can not put in to words how much I hate modern comics and how much better the older stuff was.

While I enjoy the sexy stuff I honestly enjoy coming on here and talking about the era of comics this game is based off just as much. Before internet forums were taken over by the exact type of people that ruined comics and created the cancer that is the modern comics industry I would spend hours talking with people and sharing recommendations, it's how how I found some of the best stuff the industry has ever produced.

I remember a time when you could go on forums and there would be endless effort posts, just about all of them worth reading because you would end up finding some run or issue you didn't know about.

We don't.

Though I wrote the outline of the plot and take part in discussions in how it gets implemented into the game.

I have written an Earth-69 timeline. Though that's just for the writers to know when things happened.

Godzilla and Conan are canon just as an FYI.

Also salscou isn't part of the team. Though they are very helpful in getting rid of misinformation.
I think I'd probably be closest, considering I have an insanely good memory for this shit, but 'loremaster' always just sounded like the most pretentious thing ever. I know you need someone who lives and breathes this stuff to keep everything consistent - it used to be an official job position at Lucasfilm when he still owned Star Wars, no idea if the job still exists - but still, just call it 'the go-to guy' or whatever.
