So how does making something original square up with the fact that you've got ideas for up to 4 sequels for TNH lined up?
Different levels of autism.
Though it's more accurate that I and Buttholder specifically have ideas for 4 sequels.
The rest of the team is too focused on TNH and won't even let me outline chapter 4 because I can get obsessive when it comes to details.
After finishing TNH you guys go do that original game to make money and then you guys would return to THN sequels?
Most likely. Though there are other settings that the dev team has more shared knowledge in.
Buttholder and I are the most familiar with the comics with the other members mostly being Evo and the Fox movies.
Wouldn't that increase the chances of the Big Mouse noticing TNH and any potential sequels or is that too far away currently to be a concern?
Yeah it's too far away.
Is there any reason it's specifically 2 visual novels and 2 sandboxes or is it just how you've envisioned it for now?
The visual novels were suggested due to the narrative flow of that chapter in Null's life.
Hypothetically. Big stories like Marvel Civil War work better as a multi-route visual novels than they do as open sandboxes.
Does that still hold true today and is there any chance of this stance changing in the future?
Not entirely sure. We haven't discussed it in awhile.
Our head writer made a good argument in that if we make it similar to TNH with a mostly self insert protagonist, we'd have to devote a lot of time for players to customize as opposed to Null where y'all already have him fleshed out by the end of the game.
We almost went with the idea of having Null travel to other settings but multiverse BS ramped up around that time and we cut that line of thought.
Also, I wouldn't say they would be unshackled from 18+ characters if they made a SFW version. Boots has previously said that the dev team is staying away from any underaged characters like Gabby/Badger because even if they add her in with nothing questionable, people can take the artwork that is there and make illegal mods and that will all blowback on the team even if they had nothing to do with it so they aren't taking any chances like that.
This is still true.
I'm sure some fucked up individuals will still try. We're just not gonna make it easier for them by giving a Gabby face they can slap onto X-23's body and scale down.
And i repreat, such a shame, taking care of the baby gremlin with Laura would be absolutely wholesome.
Trust me. The entire dev-team is genuinely saddened by our inability to use her for wholesomeness.
good work to whoever wrote those btw

Which got me thinking, if Null made his way in, would those comics make him out to be the biggest badboy playboy to have ever graced the pages? 'cause knowing how Marvel is with relationships (and I heard they aren't any better when it comes to the X-Men), they'd adore the drama potential of one guy dating like 9 or more girls lol
Null will never make it in.

is head of Marvel comics on Earth-69 and he finds Null to be boring.
Due to his efforts, with a few exceptions, the events you experience as Null happen IDENTICALLY to how the events are shown in the comics with Null removed.
Captain America was one of the earliest to make it to print since Stan Lee and Jack Kirby knew him personally.
Please, please tell me one of them deals with Null's kids. You know he's gonna have a few.
Yes they had been accounted for in my discussions with Buttholder.
