I've been playing catch up and skimming through posts and wanted to ask something I didn't think about until now. Not to derail the current convo but to add something for people to think about. What's up with Null's power?
We know that he's effectively useless against magical power/raw physical power when he tried to stop Juggy. That pretty much rules out everyone with magic or enhanced strength right? For example: In a fight with Captain America, who's power is just "super-soldier", Null's power isn't going to do anything for him.
I got curious about this because someone had mentioned that an idea for a sequel could have Spider-Man and Null be roommates or something like that. How would Null's power effect Peter? Would it essentially switch off his spider-sense, but leave his strength and agility of a spider intact, or wipe it all out completely?
I quickly read another post that talked about the power fantasy, or lack thereof, and I think it very much wouldn't be a power fantasy if Null is really only useful against other mutants. Yet it would also really balance him out, because a power like his can be overpowered and broken.
Like, remember when you were a kid, playing army or cops and robbers or something, and that one kid would always be like, "I have a bulletproof vest so I'm not dead!" and it would be so annoying? That's essentially the embodiment of Null's power, "Your power doesn't work cuz I have this power!" lol
I went on a bit of a tangent I know so the tl:dr is pretty much: How does Null's power work with the rest of the universe, or has it been explicitly stated that he can only effect other mutants?
