If I'd have to gauge her popularity. I'd say very early Justin Bieber.

Famous to have an album and a few stage concerts, not famous enough to be a global pop sensation.
Sort of what a few of us figured with her clothing merchandise. " Up and coming" or "On the rise". A following of some sort with a few gigs and sales, but not a worldwide household name.

Going off of the writers. It was an earlier tour. She's only 19.

Definitely a step up from where Dazzler was in the comic in her introduction, where she was more or less relegated to seedy nightclubs and dives. She could get frequent gigs, but nowhere special and was doing everything herself, which in modern terms would be burning her own CDs and making her merch herself.

With Dazzler being more successful than her comic counterpart at this point, I wonder how that will affect her character and personal story, as well as why she would decide to stick with the X-Men instead of going off on her own like in the comic, unless the Hellfire Club uses their connections to really screw her over as payback.

The rest I recognise but who's the brunette next to Daken?

Typical soap opera stuff:eek:
But with telepathy:WeSmart:

Still love and laugh at Scott's face every time I see this image :ROFLMAO:.

^ outed himself as a perv.
Yeah, who've thunk there are perverts in a porn game forum amiright?

I would assume that she probably won't be used as a vehicle to showcase the dark side of the entertainment/music business, not to the extent of her comic counterpart at least, what with her joining the X-Men almost from the get go and with Null around.

Given what has been said about the time periods covered by this game I know this is unlikely to happen but how great would Daken be in this game. Just turning up at the mansion one day and tempting Laura down a dark path with his devious ways.....

Would be fun to witness

Only difference is that they're Highschool Seniors and Captain America was too busy being Nomad to help capture her. The rest is fully canon.
Okay yeah that tracks.

Kitty, in the context probably came over with Logan for christmass dinner, would have rather been Jubilee though, since her and Laura are closer.

Gotta beat his edgy ass back to Madripoor then.

Expanding on this, her backstory is that she was discovered on this game's version of Youtube, doing cover versions of songs, the same thing that was happening to Bieber and other singers in the mid-00s in our world. The difference is, she was made to keep doing covers, but 'in the style of'. So she had an album or two that was all '80s hits in the style of Country', for example. Right now, she's doing disco versions of older songs, which is why she has the catsuit, glitterball and rollerskates. She's been made to release a lot of albums in a very short period of time, maybe only 4 years or so, so she has a lot of material out there, and it's why she's kind of everywhere.

What's the point of the entertainment industry without promiscuous sex, tons of cocaine, and dashed hopes? It's like bees without honey, Kurt without a romantic line, Caesar without Brutus, and Colossus without communism.

Yeah we're not going this route.

We'll have some edge with Null being a positive influence but we're not gonna be like Marvel and have Allison bang half of Hollywood, most of which was non-consensual, and get addicted to three different drugs just to get a big contract that falls through 5 seconds after she's outed as a mutant.

I like Dazzler as a character but the majority of her content is her suffering with no light in the darkness.

Ironman at least eventually kicked his alcoholism with love and support but Dazzler was sexually and emotionally abused into joining the X-Men.

There will be an explanation of why Earth-69 Dazzler is taking some part time classes at Xavier's beyond the difference of YouTube fame vs the exploitation of the late 70s and early 80s. I mean just look at Britney Spears and Ke$ha. Though you'll have to wait for 1.1 to come out and see what nudges her into at least attending the schooling bit.

Shoulda gone to college like her dad told her to, hell, he was paying for her career, wouldnt need to sell her ass to sleazy producers if she had become a lawyer.

She also could have taken the offer to go to Xavier's, wich she was offered twice.

Ultimately, Allison was the one that chose the hard life, because she had plenty of other oportunities, she made awfull decisions with her life.

College isn't always the recipe for success and happiness.
But yeah, at least she would have shown up to Xavier's doorstep sooner.

Her ultimate problem was trying to make it in the entertainment industry with Marvel writers addicted to causing pain in their character's lives.
Should have talked to Deadpool. He would have told her as much.

No, but it would have been better than "im gonna move to the big city by myself at 18 and with no marketable abilities whatsoever and i for sure am gonna make it big and be a music star!"

It really is a dire warning for people to not just do things without thinking it through.

But yeah, its a good thing that with the internet, talented people have more of a chance to showcase their abilities to the world that having to depend solely on studios and all that entails.

She actually was going to make it. But...

Believe it or not, not every singer had to be a coked up prostitute in the 80s to make it big.
The timing was also awful. If she were outed as a mutant after she became a gigastar that could fill stadiums singing Ba-Ba-Blacksheep, things would have played out different.
Anyway, she had the talent so it all came down to timing and chance for her success.
But with writers loving misery and wanting metaphors for the entertainment industry, that chance was zero unless she went to Xavier for a better life.
Emma had a similar thing where she could have gone to Xavier, but chose to do things herself and claw her way through a miserable path.

The lesson: always go to the rich bald guy and his school of psycho outcasts. (y)

Not gonna lie, I was hoping you were going to say this. Being a member of an X-Men probably comes with enough pain and suffering as it is without adding unneccessary EDGE to the characters to make a point about the entertainment industry.

Too bad Allison didn't know she was going to be used as a not very subtle metaphor for the dark side of show business. Glad to hear that won't be the case in TNH; looks like Null will act as a guiding light in the darkness of her career or something like that.
