If that was the case then the tag for kinetic novels wouldn't exist.
We also have comics, movies, animations, flash games etc...
As has been told to you ad nauseum, kinetic novels often ARE games. Also, flash GAMES. The other shit is stupid if not a game or real porn. This site is for GAMES not that other bullshit.

Is a Kinetic Novel a game? For me yes, you still have to interact with it, you decide the pace or when the story continues. On the other side I can understand, that some here dont think so. But: that is NOT our decision to make, it's the one that F95 already made for us. And since there is this tag in the game section here, it seems they think it is a game. Also a Kinetic Novel is a type of Visual Novels with linear story and without decisions to make (Wikipedia). For me on the contrary, if there are decisions in it it's not a Kinetic Novel anymore, then it is a Visual Novel again.
But one thing about the discussion was just stupid: telling someone what they have to like and what they don't have to like. Just because it's not for one and therefore others are not allowed to like it either is very dangerous. (we had someone who wanted that in the last century in my country, too. It didn't end very well...)

They could say a chicken is a mammal. Doesn't make it so. No decisions, not a game. You can decide the pace in a book. You can FFW parts of a TV show or movie. Those aren't games. If you can't make any decisions, how the fuck could it possibly be a game? Would be insane to think so. Like if someone made a board game with no dice rolls, no decisions and it always went the same way. No matter how fast you played, not really a game. You also broke Godwin's Law BTW.
